GRAMMYs are important! Just because certain pop girls have 0 GRAMMYs that doesn't mean GRAMMYs are not important.
I think she appeals largely to the rich pink dollar - whereas streaming is largely catered to a teen / young adult demographic as it's cheaper. This probably explains why her digital sales are generally quite large as well.

There are lots of talented artists that do not get them, and lots of people who are beyond forgotten have them. Commercial success is something you cannot take away from any artist
Streaming on the other hand shows how much people like you.

Good for her! I like Lady Gaga and think she deserves all the success she is getting. The reason behind her being behind in streaming has already been explained, I think she's coming for blood next era

I know exactly what this thread is about. I was simply responding to a troll's ignorant comment/logic. let me explain again so you understand: he/she said gaga shouldn't be considered a main pop girl because of her streaming. so i posted that if gaga can't be a main pop girl because her streaming isn't up with all the other pop girls, then neither should Katy because she's not up there Grammy wise like the rest. My comment had nothing to do with lack of success regarding Grammys but to point out that trolls' lame logic. One girl lacks one thing and the other lacks another. That was what I was implying.
They are both still here succeeding. Gaga with C2C and Katy with Prism (their latest albums). Regardless of what they lack, they're richer than all of us put together. I've given Katy her due credit and like some of her music but most of her fans here are always trying it with my fave. So of course I'm going to respond.
And if Grammys aren't important to you, they are to Katy. So when she wins one, I hope her fans don't act like it doesn't mean anything.
Kii at this being posted right before Spotify released its list for Women's Day and confirmed Gaga's spot in the top ten of all-time global female streamers. Gaga is also in the top ten of female artists on YouTube. Poor Gaga, what is she gonna do with her horrible streams? Makes you wonder why she's worth more than her peers when her streaming is so, so bad.
By the time streaming and vevo reached the dominance its at now, people were already moving past her. She reached her peak at its inception so its kind of like she just barely missed the cut. And as we all know, as popular an artist as she is, her dominance within mainstream charting and what not isn't what it was when she first came out. So naturally, her streaming isn't as frontloaded as a lot of her peers.
Gaga's VEVO was of the most viewed channels on YT. She released only Applause and An ARTPOP Film (12min) in last 3 years. That's the main reason. With next era she will gain 2B views. Bookmark me.
