Both Greatest Hits received no promotion, unlike JLOs which is her first Greatest Hits album with her hits spanning over 13 years featuring three new songs, two that were singles and promoted heavily on American Idol! Her opening numbers remain embarrassing and I don't see this having longevity to outsell even TSC!

You STILL can't compare. J.LO's remix album also smashed heavily with little promotion back in 2002.

You can spin it any way you want: those numbers are horrific. Even for a silent release.

It shows she hardly has a real fan/stanbase. people buy her songs if they are hot and feature a hot rapper but they clearly are not here for her GH.

When Jennifer performed "Dance Again" & "Goin In" on American Idol (which was 2 months ago mind you) the greatest hits wasn't even announced yet so no one knew about it.

There was no promotion done for this period. This is simply a release to fufill a contract.

She was relevant then and had two hit songs from that album promoting it on radio, something at that time was viable enough promotion for an entire record.

I think Willy was trying to explain that the music industry in 1998 (or 2004) =/= the music industry in 2012. We have iTunes now. People don't have to buy compilation albums anymore. They can buy each song separately.
