This was quite the shock for me. All-American Girl is a solid written song which can turn people from terrible moods to the happiest they can ever be in the span of twenty seconds. It's catchy, relatable and fun. I certainly don't think this is one of Carrie's weaker singles but ATRL has spoken and they think it is. The song helped Carrie earned the BMI Songwriter of the Year award at the 2008 ceremony. In addition Carrie earned the Triple Play Songwriter Award from the CMAs with this song.
