You aren't making sense. Instead of harping on people for their mistakes, which doesn't help AT ALL, and just makes you feel superior, how about you actually help them? You can look down on them and say you should have done x, y, z, but what does that accomplish?
Not to mention that no financial situation is truly stable, especially in this job market. People are getting laid off left and right, and your employment status can change at the drop of a dime.

And when people realize this, the world will be a better place.

Sure its your responsibility. But just because it's your responsibility means nothing if you can't afford the children or even yourself

I work at a grocery store, and I can't tell you how many people come into the g store with their EBT food stamps and buy **** like Oreo cookies, Digorno Pizzas, crab legs, and $20 steaks. Like wtf, it makes me roll my eyes. I think WIC is a way better supplement for the needy. Limit the hell out of what they can get.

This too. My highschool where I graduated from 2 years ago just recently laid off over 25% of their staff because of lack of funding. Now those people have to reply on unemployment/food stamps to survive. If it wasn't for that they might god forbid be dead, or doing drugs somewhere

I do give to the poor. I just prefer to give most of my extra money to the humane society because animals are truly helpless unlike humans. And I don't go around harping on anyone . This is just a discussion I am having on atrl.

Love you Wonda sis but now you are going to tell me you want to tell people what to buy?
Like they could buy whatever the hell they want with it, why should you tell them what they should and shouldn't get? I mean if that happened to non-EBT using Americans everyone would be up in arms but because they are poor you can tell them what they can buy.
No

Oh come on.
Your LIFE is your responsibility, but **** HAPPEN'S.
Let's not sit here and act like every pregnancy is planned, because it's not.
Like I said, we are not living in a world full of happy endings and sometimes people have to make due with what they have.
Tell your parents to empty your bank account and lets see how quickly your mind changes.

Feel free to post!
And to everyone: It may seem to you all that I hate food stamps, poor people, etc. That's not true. I recognize that not ALL of the people on food stamps are abusers of the system or crackheads.
But what I won't agree with is the mentality that food stamps are the only option to surviving. There is ALWAYS another way to solve a problem, and this is the same with poverty. You guys have heard the success stories about people who went literally from rags to riches. But did this happen overnight? No. It happened with will and determination. THAT is what many people lack nowadays, and they fail to realize that they can change their situation if they make better decisions.

What is false about what I said? Can a cat or dog take care of themselves?

I think it can be concluded that the majority of people on food stamps are free loading, system abusing, trash.

You honestly make it sound as if live is easy. Do you look at the world in rose colored glasses or something?

I never said life was easy. I said multiple times on this thread it isn't.

This exactly. Limit what they can buy because if you are getting help with money others make, then you should be buying something actually beneficial and healthy to your life. Not Oreos and soda. Those are a luxury not a necessity.

Uhm, yes actually.
Like I said on the first page, food stamps are a privilege, not a right. Therefore, you should not deserve the ability to go and pick what you want, like people with their own money do. Limiting food options to the main food groups would result in a healthier population, anyway.
