As much as everyone says it, I think Madonna and Gaga are very similar. But it is for a different reason.
Madonna, like Gaga, is half original, half copy-and-paste. It is foolish to pretend either are truly original. Similarly, it is foolish to say neither have shown originality.

No. Gaga is almost all copy paste whereas Madonna was mostly original, with moments of "copying". Another big diff is that Madonna openly acknowledged that she was paying tribute to Monroe with "Material Girl" and her Oscar performance. Gaga not so much.
And aside from a few things, Madge really didn't tribute Monroe, especially later into her career. So far for Gaga, it's been one copy scandal to the next. Bowie, Grace Jones, Madonna, Etc.

M.I.A.'s "Bad Girls" is great and Madonna is the all time greatest. #TeamMadonna+M.I.A.+NickiMinaj

Yet Madonna needed M.I.A., Nicki Minaj, LMFAO, and possibly others to make a comeback.
Okay.

Dont you see movies from that era, most of the movies were semi-musicals

No, movie actors were singers, not the other way around. Marilyn Monroe wasn't a singer who happened to act in a few films, she was an actress who sang songs for some films she was in, and like you said, she didn't release any album, therefore, she didn't open anything for any female artist wanting to break out back then, much less for an act who released an album over 20 years after Monroe's death.

The funny thing is that Madonna probably would've done better without all these extra artists. Even if she scores hit singles, her album won't sell.

Stop thinking about the things Gaga has referenced Madonna in and remember the things she has done all by herself. Like Darren said, 50/50

So you're saying she isn't an Icon and she pave anything for anyone.
Then tell me why many singers normally are inspired by her looks and personality and music ???

There's nothing wrong with that statement.
Madonna has enlisted Nicki, Maya, LMFAO, and others in order to achieve more success. Where's the lie?

I'm going to need you to post receipts for her copying 'almost all' of her work from someone else. There is a helpful timeline on gagapedia of her career/performances since 2006. I would like to see what you can find when you review all of them. I eagerly await your report.

I disagree about Madonna being mostly original. She drew influences from a number of different artists without crediting them.
Furthermore, Gaga has been very open about her love of people like Bowie and Madonna and how they have inspired her.

Who said that?
She is - she was a sex symbol, beautiful looks and died at a young age - I never said she isn't.
But you said she paved the way for artists like Madonna, which isn't true.
Madonna was the first pop star, that's what M.I.A. meant, and you bringing up, or all people, Marilyn Monroe to say that Madonna wasn't the first is just pointless as she wasn't even a singer and just a singer to start with. That's my point.

Grace Jones and Daphne Guinness too, let's not forget them.
