It's imperative that they get some younger viewers interested in this show, and though Demi doesn't have the allure or following of a Selena Gomez or Miley Cyrus, I think she's the best of the possible (key word) options given the facts that she'll work for the right price (there's probably not much left after Britney, Simon and LA take their cuts), and she's willing (because she doesn't really have a choice in the matter) to take second (or third) billing behind Britney (and possibly Simon). You guys didn't really expect that they'd secure another high profile figure to fill that fourth seat, did you? You'd never get Gomez or Cyrus to agree to the reduced pay, and they certainly wouldn't feel comfortable standing in Britney's shadow. Demi can't afford to be as demanding, and she'll happily accept her lower position on the totem pole because this gig is great exposure for such a mid-tier celebrity.

Demis first album came out when she was 16. She's been in this business for a while. Maybe not as long as other people but she has some experience. She admitted to watching AI since the beginning so i'm sure she knows what a judge is supposed to do.

If some of you don't know it was reported last year that Demi was being considered for the Season 1 of the X factor but she was too young so i'm sure they now think she's ready seeing as they went back to her again.

Get ready because she is about to prove some of you wrong!!

No, I mean she's C-listish, but she has a somewhat dedicated fanbase and some degree of influence over that younger demographic. They needed someone with tweenage appeal. Not only would the ideal candidate be comfortable playing second fiddle, but she would also have to be cooler than Miranda Cosgrove. Demi's their girl.

Glee" is being moved to Thursday from Tuesdays where it will follow "The X Factor" in the fall and "American Idol" in the spring.



Fox Broadcasting made that announcement early Monday morning, but held off on confirming reports that Britney Spears and Demi Lovato would be joining Simon Cowell and Antonio "L.A." Reid as judges on "X Factor" this season. E! News, which earlier reported that Spears would join "X Factor" in a one-year, $15 million deal, reported Monday that Lovato is in as the fourth judge.



TMZ reported a Spears sighting in New York City where Fox is announcing its fall schedule to advertisers Monday and Tuesday at the Beacon Theater. The network is expected to introduce Spears and Lovato to the ad community on Tuesday.



Kevin Reilly, president, Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Co., referred to "The X Factor" as a "culture-driving hit" and "Idol" and "Glee" as "strong returning tentpoles." While he called the "Idol" trio of judges "terrific" with "incredible integrity and authenticity," he did acknowledge that show underperformed in the ratings that there would be tweaks to "Idol."



Kate Hudson and Sarah Jessica Parker will do multiple episodes as guest stars on "Glee." Details on their roles have not yet been reelased, but they will join a star-studded list of guests that includes Ricky Martin, Idina Menzel, Gwyneth Paltrow, and most recently, Lindsay Lohan.



In addition, "Glee" will have a "show-within-a-show" format that bounces between McKinley High in Ohio and a performing arts school in New York City. The Ohio storyline will continue with a slate of new characters, while the show-within-a-show format will likely feature returning cast members Lea Michele, Chris Colfer and Cory Monteith, whose characters have all been headed toward NYC arcs.
