LOL, it's funny how there was a thread the other day about "Least supportive Pop Star of LGBT issues? ." Every troll criticized a cértain artist just because gay rights aren't the only things she supports (even though she does a good bit, and even though ATRL acts like that's the only social issue), yet no one acknowledged how other artists who do pander are probably just exploiting the LGBT community.

She's right... People are reading it wrong just to have something to be mad about. Or not reading at all.

She is treating gay people like who they are... People.. Instead of marketing directly at them, she appreciates that her fanbase comes from the themes in her music (which I agree with) rather than her singing about how much she loves da homos.

It's definitely kinda awkward when Gaga does it - but she has done literally everything for LGBT rights she could have as a pop star. You can't call her disingenuous. I don't believe anyone for all the sales and popularity in the world would write a speech against DADT and speak it in Washington (or wherever it was).

It completely makes sense. You're just not getting it. She never said you can't express your love repeatedly on Twitter. That's what you got out of what she said?

She said there's no intelligence or honesty in empty words like repeatedly saying "I love the gays!" It's a slogan with empty words. You can tell who's being genuine from what they say and if they can say something substantial. It's like "multicultarism" slogan. Most people talk about those things and they'll give you these empty words to back it up like how theit city is so "diverse" and go to the Chinese take out place.

I was cynical about it. I felt that people in pop use that to express themselves in that way for calculated means because they know the gay fan base is extremely loyal and extremely expressive and is a tastemaker demographic.
