Also let's not forget what happened with CKB...the fans all pushed for it to be a single, it did decently worldwide, but then went on to do nothing in the US. Her label is probably just scared to go with Stay right off. They could have big plans for it later.

I think California King Bed was a good idea for a single at the time, since everybody was starting to think she was a prostitute or something since she released two **** anthems like What's My Name? and S&M next to each other. So even though California King Bed flopped, I think it was still good for repairing her image a bit a the time.
