If you put the songs next to each other, side by side, the only similarities are the chord progression. It's the same one that's been in disco music for the last 50 years. Just because I'm the first [expletive] artist in 25 years to think of putting it on Top 40 radio, it doesn't mean I'm a plagiarist, it means that I'm [expletive] smart.
Madonna, like the huge business woman she is, would have sued Gaga without doubting. She didn't. Also, the only one who has judicial sentences for plagiarism is Madonna, not Gaga.
ok. can u put BTW on top of some other song. or EY on top of some other song and make them sound exactly the same?
When you rip a specific song by a specific artist you put their name in the credits of the song and don't go thanking Whitney Houston & Alexander McQueen for inspiration. Besides this has nothing to do with Madonna per se. It's about BTW being unoriginal, not about Madonna having her own record of rips.
You're the one who brought Madonna up. I think BTW is original, esp. in the time period that we are in because Gaga brought 80's pop to our generation with this album instead of playing it safe like everyone else, she took a risk with this album and that alone is more than what the other girls are doing. 'Fashion of his love' is inspired by Whitney Houston's 'I wanna dance with somebody'
'Born this way' and 'Express yourself' have slight similarities and that's it.

there's plenty for BTW/EY
That's what the chord progression's about. I repeat it, if Madonna's convinced BTW is a plagiarism, she can go and sue Gaga. That's what justice's for. If not, she better shut up and don't upload her EY performance to YouTube just to put it on Top 40 again.
Born This Way was the only album hyped to hell before its release, so of course people expectations would be high. The reviews weren't what people expected (I remember a bunch of 80+ Metascore predictions), the single and album sales were decent but not excellent and the airplay wasn't as strong as other pop girls.
Personally, I had a feeling it wouldn't live up to expectations. Albums hyped like that prior to release rarely ever do.

It was a bummer for me when everyone was saying it sounded like a Madonna song. If you know one thing about me, it is that I am absolutely not influenced by Madonna. I think it was ******** to be honest. I guess there are a hundred songs that you could put a pitch shift and a BPM change on and loop and make them sound like anything. In addition, there are 5 songs on the radio right now that have the exact same chords and progression. - Dj White Shadow the producer who helped produce the Born this Way single.
For me "Born This Way" takes the cake, with "4" a close second.
Born this Way lacked the X factor and youth and innovation associated with her first 2 EP's.
"4" has been commercially disappointing, however it just lacks the big singles we've come to expect from Beyonce. It's missing that Irreplaceable or Single Ladies jam. The ballads are somewhat similar to the Bionic album, where it fails to deliver momentum in the latter stages.

OMG! People are still hating Gaga for that bull. How many thousands of songs sound very similar yet Gaga gets so much hate for one song sounding like Madonna's. Does she deserve this much hate for just that? Why don't you go hate on Katy for her song ET sounding just like TATUs All the things she said? Or go after Elthon John for "Can You feel the Love Tonight" for having the same chord progression as "Let It Be" by The Bealtes' " ?

On to someone other than the same pop girls - Tha Carter IV was disappointing. It was coming off the very strong Tha Carter III. In comparison, IV was just blah.
I liked most of the big releases I listened to, however a few lacked the killer punch given the hype and my personal expectations.
