We both know a fanbase is not as important as having general public support which katy receives in heavy doses tho.

No artist has "general public support" forever. Stans maintain album sales, buy tour tickets, etc. And we already know who's winning that battle.

Yes, it makes sense. Gaga is so pretentious and her stans are always acting like she's perfect and better than other artists.
Katy is an entartainer, does great videos, great pop songs, the public loves her, and is all that matters.

Yes, considering that the eccentricity that was once a wow-factor for Gaga is just dull and boring now.

Katy's already outlasting Stefani being that she started before, and isn't faded like the other.

Now you know that's a damn lie. #1 singles don't define an era, at all. No I'm not discrediting Katy or trying to make her era sound less impressive, but cmon.

That really makes no sense. Katy is now more eccentric than Gaga and is doing what Gaga did two years ago. If it's boring for Gaga now, then it's boring for Katy, yet you think it's entertaining.

Except, that's the problem "the public loves her". The public will love her for however long she continues putting out catchy music. She needs a large fanbase and if her huge TD era couldn't get that for her, nothing will.

Katy will probably fade away with her fourth album. If Gaga comes with a more mainstream sound, Katy has no chance. Plus Gaga is a bigger worldwide superstar.

Katy can stay as long as she wants, she'll never match Gaga's impact.

You see sis, the problem is.. Katy won't last more than Gaga, even if Gaga keeps "flopping", selling 6m copies with each album she releases, she'll never fade or disappear, SHE'S ****ING GAGA FOR GOD'S SAKE! Your indian grandma who lives in the middle of the himalaya's mountains knows who she is. So, yes wether some gurls in here like it or not, Gaga is already a pop legend.

No, of course she can't, and I can't even begin to express the 9 pages of delusion I have just read.
Katy will not outlast Gaga simply because she is bland, uninteresting and easily replaceable. Sure, she's had success with this era and well done to her, but #1 (discounted and remixed) singles do not signify staying power. Katy can just about sell-out arena's, she doesn't have the power, relevance of personality to sell out stadiums.
People may say that they Born This Way era was not successful and lost the public's interest, yet she was the highest paid female musician of 2011 by MILLIONS, and has topped Forbes for being the most powerful celebrity, she is also selling out stadiums in short amount of time, and I'm sure it's not going to slow down anytime soon.
The difference between Katy and Gaga is the fact that one is a disposable popstar who sings catchy tunes, and the other is a cultural icon with undeniable power.

Clearly, but who will be more relevant is the question at hand.

As a dominant figure in popular culture, yes. I see Katy as more of a celebrity than Gaga. People will always take interest in her whereabouts and her career. However, in terms of musical impact, Gaga will last a lot longer. It's like comparing a musical legend with an A-List celebrity if you get what I mean. Both are huge in their own ways, but never the same.

If so, the public will love her forever, she's a popstar, like Madonna, Britney or Rihanna. She always be releasing catchy music. You think she will release an indie album? Of course not.

Gaga replace Britney, Britney replaced Madonna, so in a few years Gaga will be replaced. Katy never replaced an artist, and therefor will never be replaced.
