That's not how ambition works. Jay Z is a businessman. He's ambitious. Why should a company make millions (potentially billions) off songwriter's and singer's just because they provide it to the consumer? They're essentially getting rid of the middle man. A middle man who does nothing and get paids hundreds of millions to do it.

Yeah, Jay Z has enough money, but he's expanded his empire, like all entrepreneurs do. Why be like "ehhh, I have enough money" when you could make your empire even bigger?

It's the principle. Music shouldn't be free and with Spotify it might as well be free. It's someone's creative output. It's not something you have a right to. This could actually benefit lesser known musicians and indie artists. They're not all rich.

They are releasing music online, in their own terms though (or on Jay's terms).
