Oh look, an American who thinks they know everything yet are completely wrong about the UK, how interesting!

Nonetheless, it seems logical that they would focus on one Rihanna single over another but honestly, I thought they would choose this over BBHMM, considering this would be much more likely to accrue good radio play than a trappy urban song.

How interesting that you know everything about the UK, too. Especially considering I never said I did. I only speak on facts, the numbers speak for themselves. The single being canceled speaks for itself. I've kept up with the release enough to have my cards straight. Stay pressed boo. Ya'll are all trying too hard.

Oh I definitely don't either but I also don't try to speak opinions, not facts or 'numbers' as you claim, for the public of a country where I don't live. The British public wouldn't not be unable to connect with the song just because it has the word 'America' in the title and chorus, as the story of struggle and working toward a goal is something that many millions would understand and empathise with. If you really think they cancelled the single because the video has a few American flags in it then you're probably a little more shortsighted than you think.

Well, Radio 1 finally playlisted BBHMM this week so I guess that is the new single.

Although the rest of radio in the country won't touch that song.

I'd agree with you if this song were more thought out and less repetitive. Your point is not here for this song, sorry. And short sided? And a few American flags? Watch the video again. All this song has is AMERICAN references, a speech from an AMERICAN in the riff. This song literally repeats the same thing over and over again. There's nothing to take away from it that is THAT relatable to people in ANOTHER country, especially as a radio single, that would make it smash. The quality just isn't there. I'm not speaking on your behalf, or any other fans behalf, but that's the way it works on radio and I'm sure that's their thought too. Someone who is not a Rihanna fan isn't going to stan for this. And if there's anything to take away from AO, it's very few lyrical points that have meaning.

As others have pointed out, there are many "American" songs that smashed worldwide. Same for songs with other countries in the title that have smashed here.
A hit is a hit regardless of the title.
And no, I will not act stupid or sit down and accept this poor and sad excuse to justify a flop. Now, you sashay away.

I think I'll stay, shantay. Cuz' half of those examples used were lame. And California Girls and Party in the USA were surely not quality 'hits' - just recycled garbage that turned into huge hits because of the name tied to them. And the fact that they were promoted first singles. And did I say I was justifying a flop? AO isn't happening in the U.S. or anywhere. I simply told ya'll why this wasn't happening in the UK. Get your panties out of a bunch and move on. It dies here.
