1. It's not really done, you have to connect the noble gases (someone else can correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure Group VIIIA is noble gases) data points, it helps you in later questions.

3. The trends are that for the noble gases, the ionization energy is extremely high because they are unreactive so they don't want to lose electrons. The alkali metals have very low ionization energies because that's how they react, they want to get rid of the extra electron they have.

5. The trend you should notice is that as you go higher up in groups (columns) that the first ionization energy increases because that atom is more and more likely NOT to lose an electron.
