This is true. But the latter is only ever seen on GRINDR. Never have I ever seen something on television where a gay male says "No blacks/Asians/Hispanics". I only see that type of thing said on Grindr and that is not an issue, in my mind. What dumbasses say on Grindr shouldn't be considered an issue.
No sister - take an upscale dating app, like OKCupid. It's stunning how many people very clearly say they have a preference for their race and their race only.
Spoiler alert: I have NEVER seen a Black/Latino/Asian/Native American gay man say that on any dating/hookup app. EVER.
I always find it quite odd when I see a black man/woman being homophobic the reason for this is because they should know what it is like to feel picked on for something they can't help.. It's quite upsetting. As the previous poster said the amount of homophobia in the black community is shocking.
did i mention that there is no racism in LGBT community? Im not dumb to think that there are no racism. it's everywhere but you want to talk about racism, talk about it. not some bull crap about the one in op about how whites date ther own kind. who the hell are they hurting? now if you want to talk about the representation of the LGBT community in media, that's a start.
I think it's probably natural for people to have a preference for people of the same race as them.
Someone should try an experiment with chimpanzees. Get 20 Western Chimpanzees, and 20 Eastern Chimpanzees, put them in an enclosed area. If they show no preference to those from a similar area and genetic background to them, then you'd expect them to pair up randomly, resulting in around 25% Western + Western, 50% Western + Eastern and 25% Eastern + Eastern.
If they paired up something like 40% Western + Western, 20% Western + Eastern and 40% Eastern + Eastern then you conclude that chimpanzees have a natural preference for others who have ancestry from a similar area, so then you could conclude that this may simply be natural in humans too.
what the **** do you know about me, stupid bitch.. i am no one's slave, but im not the one crying racism when there is none! you bitches are soooo annoying. like why the **** are you upset about? the fact that white guys date their own kind? newsflash, almost everyone dates their own race. sounds to me like you want the white D but is frustrated at the fact that you get rejected like a skank. unlike you, i dont seek their validation.
The vast majority of this fourm 'want D' gorrl so trying to ****-Shame is pointless and humorous.
I like men, all men, I've been attracted to many races.
The issue is as a result of Euro-centric beauty ideals still being THE ONLY/VAST, VAST MAJORITY of representations of beauty in media - which is VERY INFLUENTIAL - people grow up following those same beliefs that they've been conditioned in to.
Thus, other 'races' (another social construct by the way) are seen as INFERIOR, ugly, less-than because of their skin colour and written off as such.
"I don't date black" "or Asian" "not my type" "it's just a preference"
But Asia is a huge continent - as is Africa - and the looks and features of its inhabitants VARIES WILDLY, so writing off a whole group of people who LOOK DIFFERENT but (MAY) have similar skin tone is ludicrous and racist.
Again, there's a difference between saying "I am usually attracted to guys/girls who look like me" and "I am fundamentally not attracted to an entire continent of people," which is what people who say "No Blacks/No Asians/No Latinos" are saying. The latter is hateful.
To me, they are just advertising what they want without the hassle of going filtering through if what they want is simply to get laid. arent those apps mainly for hook ups? In the end, isnt it the same thing no matter how they approach it? Those ppl who are attracted to a certain type wont reply to others eveb if they dont use those heading. I personally dont care and in fact, it saves me the trouble actually. I just think there is a bigger issue at hand. This is a non issue for me. After all, ppl do flock to their own kind most often than not. Now white media and how they portray gays as just fem white twinks is more problematic.

How do you know this is fact though?
For example, in a lot of other species of mammal the females are attracted to the male with the biggest horns, or the male who's largest in size, or the male with the loudest cry. In some bird species the females are attracted to the males with the largest feather display, or the most colourful feathers, and so on.
Those animals aren't fed those beliefs in their society, they're just naturally attracted to those things in the opposite sex. Do you think there's anything in our species that people might be naturally attracted to? For example, I feel like it's probably natural for MOST females to be attracted to taller males. And if that is the case, then that puts males from North East Asia at a slight disadvantage if they're living in a population with people from all different races.
Or do you think society and the media could theoretically make people attracted to anybody if they indoctrinated the population to find them attractive for long enough? I don't think this would work, because feminists have been putting a huge amount of effort in recent years to try and tell males that curvy women are attractive, but despite all that the vast majority of males continue to think slim girls are the most attractive.
The LGBT community in general has a lot of internal discrimination that it needs to work on - racism/whitewashing is just one of the issues I've noticed. There is also an alarming amount of misogyny, transphobia, and feminine-shaming, among other things.
Mess, Atrl with its tumblr moments again , nothing to see here
Yeah, you can't request for a thread to be closed if you, at the core, don't see any validity to the issue at hand. That's a false equivalency - and we don't do that here.
This is just so tumblr. There's 8 billion people on the planet and we all have preferences. Some people are attracted to certain races, certain genders, certain dick sizes, certain body types, etc. Nobody should get offended by a preference because all that person is doing is narrowing down who/what they're generally interesting in. It's a sex app of course it's not going to be politically correct.
I want to briefly touch the point of why blacks are homophobic. By the way, if you don't have an open mind and are too ignorant to consider any point that you haven't been exposed to stop reading now. Spare me the "you're a SJW, just like TUMBLR !!!11" posts. Only inept people who can't comprehend basic concepts say stuff like that.
The black church is one of the main components why homophobia is seen to be more rampant in the community, that among other reasons of course. But you have to think about how the black church was formed. It was formed after slave masters forced their slaves to attend church and it brain washed them. That was the purpose, to brain wash the slaves. Till this day that's what it does. That's why I refuse to practice Christianity because it's a slave master religion. In all essence, homophobia is taught and it was taught via religion. The slave masters taught homophobia to the slaves essentially. Those ideas are still kept in the black community despite legal advancements for LGBT people. Also, there is the idea of hyper-masculinity and misogyny that contributes to homophobia in the black community. But those again stem from slavery. Many different regions in the world were open to ideas of different sexualities and genders until imperialism and colonization occurred. But my main point is, black Americans are basically homophobic because white people taught them to be. I already know some of you are pissing yourselves to this comment but I don't know what to tell you. It's just facts and common sense.

And that's before mentioning religion.
It's because we are racial minorities and and sexual minorities. There is exclusion from everywhere we go. LGBT exclusion because we aren't white. Exclusion from our race because we aren't straight. And yes, once you add religion it gets even worst. Intersectionality is a bitch.

I've never really met a racist LGBT person. Is the lack of visibility of non-White gays that much of an issue? Black and Asian people are minorities in the US as far as I'm concerned, so the representation should be proportional?
