I think it is pathetic when some of those teachings have been used as tools of oppression towards you. How can you support a religion that openly berates nearly everything you do, and prevents you from enjoying true freedom, in every sense of the word? I do not get that.

This reminds me of an article I read in Teen Vogue. This women basically went on a bashing charade about Christianity, and the people that follow the religion. I'm really tired of people making it seem like Christianity is this huge gay-bashing religion when in reality, a great amount of us support gay people, and gay rights.
