TEOG is literally on the edge. If a handful of major stations pick it up, it will be a smash.

Her label should be more preoccupied with that than with plastering NYC with off-putting pictures of her.

I think radio smash is in the cards. Listener reception is just too good not to. They just need to get the video right to work the long-term sales angle. If nothing else can be taken away from Judas they should have learned that people don't want the extra padding from her videos. The song's a total flop and yet the video has 50m views already.

Who the hell is watching it!?!?! It's not selling ANYTHING.

I just don't understand.

The Edge of Glory needs to be a monumental smash...it really needs to be picked up by every station. This could sell so many albums...I even think it could be a 4M seller or 5M seller despite the # of albums that have been sold.\

I also really think it could help in the long run for her to have the very basic summer-friendly love song while everyone else is doing whatever else.

I read over at Pulse that it got really good callbacks (the negative ones are probably what killed Judas after its initial explosive start), and it's the #1 rated song over everything on pop radio over at RateMyMusic. I think it's very well-poised at the moment to be here for awhile.

This weeks National Airplay Chart was just released:
18 (19) Lady Gaga Judas
31 (28) Lady Gaga The Edge Of Glory
38 (42) Lady Gaga Born This Way

Basically, most everyone I know in real life was meh on BTW, totally put off by Judas, but those who've heard TEOG seem to really like it. I know that's anecdotal, but I think it's an indication of the general trend.

I have A LOT of friends that told me that they love TEOG and they usually hate everything about Gaga So that could be an indication too. Those people are usually the ones that also like Paparazzi, but not her other songs like Poker Face, Bad Romance, etc.

It's funny because I'm not that a big fan of Paparazzi, but I love TEOG.

I think out of all her songs so far Paparazzi was the one that did the most to expand her fanbase beyond the average pop fan who's always game for the next hottest thing. A lot of people stopped dismissing her after that.

Most people I know hated Born This Way initially, but began to like it over time. Everyone hates Judas. Everyone seems to like TEOG.

It's funny, I'm not sure if it's the summer effect or what, but I'm REALLY feeling The Edge of Glory. I think it's getting more plays than any other song in my library at the moment. I'm ready for it to smash. The other day, I was driving in the hills and it just went so perfectly. 5PM sun across the hills, just great.

You and I, and maybe The Queen and Fashion Of His Love aswell as TEOG are the only songs on this album which will have a similar effect and appeal to a different audience IMO. (actually MTN could do that too)
This is the reason Hair should NOT be a single. Like I said in another thread, its lyrics/meaning are too similar to BTW and I don't think the public will relate to it.
