I think she could release ALL the songs from the album if she panned it well and did good promo.

chris no. It doesn't work that way. With every single released, she will gain album sales weekly. Her album usually survives based on successful single performance. For example, with Hard she stabilized at 15-20k weekly, while increasing to 20-25k during Rude Boy. Each successful single gives momentum to her album sales.
The issue is that it's not that she's gonna release all singles simultaneously. Each single will contribute a certain amount of album sales. That's why every album have 4/5 singles, it is to help keep the sales coming.
But Rihanna is not big album seller anyway. She needs a long streak of hits like GGGB to establish the album and make it buying-worthy. Rated R failed to reach that status coz there were just quite a few of hits there
