Tales of Berseria looks horrible. I wasn't here for the reveal neither. I mean, I know Tales of bases part of its audience in fanservice and sexualizing characters, but the main outfit for the heroine is unbearable. It just don't make any sense, but also, degrades the main character of the game to a piece of meat. I don't care if Velvet is a werewolf and it makes sense to have her clothes ripped, but the design intention is not to show ripped cloth, but to show skin. Look at her pants and how they open just before her genitals are shown. This is DISGUSTING, and I'm all up for characters showing skin and I appreciate when female characters feel in charge of their sexuality, but Velvet was designed by a 50 year old man, it was approved by a team of perverts that think that cheap ****** pandering is what going to make the public care again about this sinked ship of a franchise.
Now, let me not get started on what was shown in the last trailer. It not only looks like a PS2 game with two shaders filtered on (look at the models and the lighting... like...), but also the world remains HOLLOW. You don't see any detail in the enviroments, just boring plains. And wooo lord the onegai desuu watashi me kawaiii MESS of a character they introduced as a co-protagonist. Are they serious? This is not a ****ing Hyperdimension Neptunia, Atelier Tititis game. This was supposed to be one of the most ground to earth JRPG franchises, and now it became this. What was the need for that TRASH of a design? Like, a blonde little boy with uguuu eyes and a dog collar?
I can't believe people are still pretending that this FARCE is "what is going to replace Final Fantasy from now on". I loved nearly EVERY Tales game up until Xillia, but I just can not bear this. They can shove their Xillia engine up their teepos, I don't need this, the franchise doesn't need this. We wanted the franchise to return to its Abyss and Vesperia roots, not this japanese Terry Richardson MESS. I'm looking forward to this game flopping as hard as Zestiria did, maybe this will open up Hideo Baba's delusional eyes and they will stop rushing out yearly games that end up being half baked, empty and uncohesive. Keep it.
