If you charge a police officer, it's at their discretion how they handle the situation. Shooting someone may seem excessive, but if it's true that he charged the officer, it isn't illegal.

I don't know why Darren Wilson did the interview. It creates more questions and only stokes the flames racial tension further. Seems like if he was really interested in the truth he would've waited to do this interview at a time when tensions were not so heated. Additionally, his story does not add up if you believe what he stated in his interview.

I haven't seen his post interview after the grand jury's decision but his statement on record matched up exactly with what happened. The autopsy, the wounds, the shell casings all backed his story up.

I don't believe doing a post interview so close to the outcome was a bad idea, persay. That makes it seem like he wants to put this behind him as quickly as possible. I think if he would've waited any longer, then he would've been accused of "relighting a fire".

I agree not all criminals deserve to get shot, and yes nothing is inherently bad just because it's illegal, but it is of my opinion and I surely hope it's yours that stealing is never justified, especially when you threaten someone else while they're trying to defend their rightfully owned property. If this is the incident people have to use to prove racism is truly that bad in the US then that's quite telling. Never mess with a cop, that's common sense. That said, that officer handled things horribly and his insignificant injuries makes me doubt that his life was truly in danger so I agree that something needs to be done other than sweeping the issue under the carpet.
