No worries tho, she's always been Electronic and dabbled into a bit of Urban.

Gaga also said that zedd produced a complextro masterpiece and Madeon dabbles a lot into complextro.

Y'all aren't getting anything close to what you're expecting. I just hope you know that.
Not to mention, the EDM sound has been fading in popularity(both in radio and in sales), so... Just keep that in mind.

Wrong, many radio stations in the past weeks have been picking up Madeon's The City including Y100 (although after playing the song alot for a week, took it off their playlist).. But Rhy is more here for the song than Pop has, which is a shock tbh.. But it'll take time for EDM to take full effect.. It's just starting out.. Beauty And A Beat, Spectrum, and Levels have been the closest thing to EDM that has charted in the Top 50 on Pop Radio, with Beauty And A Beat reaching Top 5 (Zedd produced BAAB btw ).. EDM is just starting.. I'm going to guess Gaga will be the huge kick in EDM that really gets its popularity going.. I would expect The City to possibly do a Lights chart run; start out really slow, dies down, then comes back hard and smashes the charts.. It's very possible that The City could go Top 10 on Hot 100.. Everybody that I've played the song to has LOVED it!! I've been trying to promote it like crazy and I think it has gained popularity in my city.. I'm actually going to personally ask my local Pop station to play it as I think it'll get a great response.. But back to the topic, EDM isn't dying, there's just nothing new really EDM related being released for Pop Radio right now..

Tbh, I expect just typical Gaga songs, I also hope too. We'll see. She's not gonna jump from dance-pop to trap in one album.

The first major edm song played on radio stations was wfl since then we've had too close, don't you worry child and sweet nothing. It hasnt really taken off to be considered fading yet.
I think stache gives us an idea of what to expect in terms of gaga with heavy edm, she said they give us a taste of what to expect sonically from her. I think cake like lady gaga gives us an idea of how gaga will sound with trap as well. Weve also heard ratchet instrumentals and know there will be some trap influence. I expect to hear songs similar to that with a heavier pop focus and chorus. I also think hml might give us a hint too since the bit of ARTPOP we heard sounded like that.

The masses haven't heard what EDM has to offer yet. They're just used to Guetta dance/pop and the odd post-chorus breakdown.
I imagine Gaga is going to return with a "lighter" but intense electronic/complextro sound with soaring pop melodies and flavours of "real" instruments (i.e. guitar riffs). Amongst that she'll have glam electro trap and some haunting 90s euphoria.

It's clearly not as popular as it was when Gaga debuted. and BAAB is only doing as well as it has even because Bieber has been a (surprising) radio force this time around.
We are in a world that openly embraces "real music" now, which is why others like Rihanna are genre-savvy enough to release slower songs that would appeal to HAC. Something the dance songs tend to do only rarely (Lights, Too Close).
We haven't had a dance-pop song go number one since Stronger, you know. That was almost a year ago... Sure, Call Me Maybe "could" be called dance, but I would sooner relate it to The Archie's than I would KC & The Sunshine Band. And it's not "Gaga's form of dance" anyway

But what is a typical Gaga song? This is the million dollar question to me, she evolves so much from album to album that it is impossible to expect a particular sound from her, lets remember the flawless Poker Face, then released Paparazzi both songs are completely different from each other, Paparazzi and Bad Romance are worlds apart, she's one of the most versatile artists out there at the moment.
When we were in TFM era we would've never expected something like Highway Unicorn or Americano from her, yet she surprised us with that, hell even that mess of FOHL isn't what we would describe as a typical Gaga song.
I honestly can't imagine what she's going to come up with for ARTPOP, I PRAY that it won't be something like that DJWS mixtape which is a HOT MESS, she should stay away from that , she has Madeon and Zedd's amazingness to make her magic, DJWS and Garibay are going to produce our favorite songs (as always) and RedOne should not be a part of ARTPOP at all, unless he gives us the evolution of Scheiße (which I doubt he will)

EDM never took off and it's because most of the EDM on the radio sucks and the reason that is, is because its not EDM producers making it, it's producers like dr. Luke putting bastardized versions of EDM onto the radio. We Found Love is a good example of EDM done right and look at how that did.

Yet it's still not as much of a presence.
Every record sounds the same too. You have people like Usher repeating themselves with DJ Got Us Fallin In Love and Scream, and that ruins the genre's appeal for many people. Which leads to then searching for something more "real and emotional," like Adele.
Overproduction is also painful and all too common in dance pop today.

That's the thing too. Untalented hacks like Dr. Luke and RedOne have led to people getting exhausted with hearing the genre in heavy rotation on the radio

I am curious to see how ARTPOP meshes (or doesn't) with what Gaga has been saying. First she was inspired by the death of the blonde pop star. Then she was carefree and immature. Now the album is a bit more personal than she realized. On top of that she has compared ARTPOP to TFM in raver form. There was the promise of EDM, electro-trap, and j-hop. Radio, Cake, Stache, and ARTPOP might give a good insight into the album's sound.
I am really intrigued and I just can't wait for this to come out already

I agree with what you're saying, since Adele happened people have been embracing indie-ish music more, but don't you think that the problem with dance not having had another #1 since stronger was that, there were no great songs released after it?
Sure we had Where Have You Been, but it was not better than WFL and rihanna had hurt her momentum with the Birthday Cake feat. Chris Brown thing, had she released WHYB as WFL followup the era would've been much better.
Ke$ha flopped, but she did have success with Die Young, she is a singles artist after all, thing is that, most of the singers doing Dance music at the moment, are single-selling singers, they're not album artists like Gaga.
With the right song, gaga could have a bigger hit than WFL imo.

The problem is your mixing dance pop with edm. If youre speaking about dance pop there have been plenty this year stronger, starships, pound the alarm, where have you been, scream, part of me, scream and shout, gangnam style, etc. Gaga isnt doing pure dance pop as she already did that in tf and TFM.
Edm has only had a few hits and theyve all come up within the past year.

Realistically though, the public will not perceive a difference between EDM and dance-pop. Mainly because dance-pop is watered down to its most basic form...

Easily. "Born This Way" was nearly on the same level anyway, if she releases a surefire smash this time she's sure to have a bigger hit. People underestimate her hit-making ability.

After Judas under-performing and Marry The Night flopping people are questioning her hitmaking abilities, but i'm sure she will deliver, her career depends on this album.
