Norway had municipal elections yesterday and the strongest opposition to the refugee crisis had its worst results in two decades. That party was left in the dust while immigration-friendly ones surged in the polls. Immigration had been a big topic this year.

The main opposition Labour Party, which favours letting in refugees, was the big winner on Monday with 33.4 percent, its best result in a local election since 1987.
"Norway will help, receive and give protection to those who are fleeing from war and terror," party leader Jonas Gahr Stoere told supporters.
"The majority that gave Norway a government of the Conservatives and Progress (in 2013) is gone," he said.
The rulling coalition is split on how to handle this: one party wants to help Syrians, but around their home area (not take them in) while the other, larger party joined the Left in voting take some refugees in.
Where have all the fumes gone? It seems like everyone is agreeing now
'Cause there's nothing to disagree on. Schengen is outdated and Europe can't handle the amount of people coming in. It's time to close borders, and that's what's been done all week.

I hope Hungary gets boycotted big time. What an violent government they elected.
A shame for Europe.
Shame for Saudi Arabia which did NOTHING. Any help received from EU should be taken as an act of good will. Time to stop acting entitled when your own people don't want to help you.
