A Trump loss could be worse than a Trump win...

This was in line with comments from Roger Stone, a longtime adviser to Trump. In a recent interview with Breitbart’s Milo Yiannopoulos, Stone said that Trump should start talking “constantly” about the chance of voter fraud and a rigged election. “He needs to say for example, today would be a perfect example: ‘I am leading in Florida. The polls all show it. If I lose Florida, we will know that there’s voter fraud.’ ” Stone continued in this vein. “ ‘If there’s voter fraud, this election will be illegitimate, the election of the winner will be illegitimate, we will have a constitutional crisis, widespread civil disobedience, and the government will no longer be the government.’ ”

From here, Stone’s language gets ominous. “If you can’t have an honest election, nothing else counts,” he said. “The government will be shut down if they attempt to steal this and swear Hillary in. No, we will not stand for it. We will not stand for it,” Stone said, promising a “bloodbath” of “civil disobedience.”

It is...the popular vote should actually decide the election. It gives more power to the actual voters.

You'd have to fundamentally change how the United States works to do that.

The entire point of the Electoral College is to give smaller states a bigger say. Representation is decided on a state level in all matters, not just the presidency.

Most people will smell the ******** if Trump keeps claiming that.

Plus the fact that voter ID laws being struck down should tell you how precarious his position actually is. (Ironic that suppressing the voter turnouts will actually help Hillary out now that the ID laws are being struck down).

And the fact that we've seen what happened in 2000 is not exactly the same situation here at all.

Trump is also the face of the birther movement, which alsohad a following that tried to delegitmize the presidency. Did it work? Obviously not since we have had 8 years of Obama. Trump can try the same thing, but would be disavowed by most Republicans. It is kind of pathetic how painfully obvious Trump is trying to justify his losing. Must not feel so confident about his chances.
