She can do both on the same album though. I mean Rihanna current album is an example of that, even Beyoncé's Lemonade is an example of that. Rihanna's ANTI has songs like Work with set the charts on fire and songs like Woo which is not commercial, but both weirdly enough fit on the same record. She just needs people by her side that know how to translate that.
I love BFL, and it was an album she HAD to make, but even The Dream and Tricky were on their own journey together to find their chemistry back. I would love Nicole to work with people as Mark Ronson and people who worked on the album of Allesia Cara for example. It would be cool to do an album which serves both of those sides, while still showing the classic sound she is aiming for.
