It was a tight race atop the global album chart, but at the end Adele's '21' triumphs another time and holds the top spot for a phenomenal 40th week. But the sales slide down slowly, last week '21' moved 188.000 copies, a 6,5% decrease compared to the previous week. Howsoever the total sales of '21' reaches the 21 million level this week. On the ALL TIME CHART it climbed to no.63, the fourth best selling album of the 21st century so far, behind Eminem's 'The Marshall Mathers LP' at no.53 (22 million), Norah Jones' 'Come Away With Me' at no.48 (23 million) and the Beatles' '1' at no.14 (nearly 32 million).
No.3 in Australia after week 66. Expected to be similar positions in the UK & NZ too. Should be another 200K week assuming she's in the top 3 in the states...
