I'm getting really bored with Avril. I feel like she's trying to find her own niche but contrarily to someone like P!nk, who keeps the same attitude but somehow manages to back it up with a great balance between fun up-tempos, strong ballads and amazing performances, Avril can't seem to back it up with interesting tracks.

Her videos for this era have been amazing though. Let Me Go takes the cake, but I can't bring myself to give two ***** about that song.

And it's what most of her (old) fanbase want from her, and I think that GP may want it as well. And I'm not talking about those people who love TBDT to death and/or started to like her because of that album/era, those will obviously prefer a more "upbeat, fun, carefree" Avril. Not saying they are less of a fan, but a different kind of fan coming from a different kind of album/music she's released.

I've followed Avril since Complicated lol. Under My Skin is one of the first albums I ever owned and I've bought all of her following albums.
But really, Let Me Go just doesn't wow me at any point. I find it really underwhelming, it seems to follow a recipe that I just don't enjoy as much. It's meant to be epic, but it's trying too hard and I'm just not impressed lol.

Yes it's good, but it's nothing compared to her other ballads. It's just in line with Get Over It, Everybody Hurts and Remember When.

But fact is: Avril always deliver with ballads. It's just that others are superior.
