The Seer was the puppet master behind the whole Evil Phoebe storyline. Had nothing to do with Phoebe or Cole.

She was pretty much determined to dump Cole before the Seer got to her. The tonic was given to her after she had made the choice. Also the baby's influence on Phoebe is very questionable. In the episode where she is evil queen she still has doubts whether she wants to be evil or not., meaning she wasn't completely demonic but didn't want to lose her status as queen, i suppose. She's given the tonic to be full evil, the baby ain't doing anything grave yet. After they vanquish Cole Phoebe isn't evil even though she's still pregnant. She has hot flashes and the baby takes control of her body to attack Paige but Phoebe is still herself up until the end of the episode. This is why i don't heavily rely on the demonic pregnancy influence thing. Even so, they were both possessed so it doesn't make sense why Cole was vanquished. She had turned evil a zillion times before that and nothing happened. He could have been stripped off his Source powers and call it a day.
Also where the HELL where the Elders? They were quick to revoke Leo's whitelighter dudies to the Charmed Ones when Phoebe and Piper turned evil in season 3 but they had nothing to say about this? No repercussions for Phoebe becoming queen of the underworld?

The whole 'blame Cole for everything in Season 5 arc' was so ****ed up. It's clear with Julian deciding to leave they had to change gears but the fact that Phoebe blames him for actions done when POSSESSED by the source of all evil which only happened because he took in the hollow to save the charmed ones ungrateful asses was so disgusting.
They should have made him good in Season 5, show a complicated friendship/relationship with him and Phoebe then have him die saving Phoebe, would have been a much more respectable and coherent storyline.

Julian McHanon is so hot... and agreed they did Cole bad in S5. I think they should have ended the story in S4 instead of dragging it. It really ruined his character and the love story.

MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) -personality types of all the Halliwell sisters:
http://funkymbtifiction.tumblr.com/search/charmed
Excerpt:
Quote:
Charmed: Prue Halliwell [ESTJ]
Extroverted Thinking(Te): Prue is a highly organized and logical person who practices everything in moderation. Due to having to raise her two younger sisters after their mother died she became very responsible and had to learn to be in control of everything so that became the way she lead her life. She makes her decisions based off what she feels is the logical and morally right thing to do as apposed to what she feels and it takes encouragement from both Phoebe and Piper for her to listen to her emotions. Prue easily takes charge of situations and easily places order into chaos. When they are facing a warlock, daemon or any other evil it is typically Prue who will organize them and enforce the plan even if said plan is not hers. The ideas of right and wrong are black and white in her mind. She has strong opinions and is blunt when it comes to voicing them. If she doesn’t want someone in her life, she will tell them to get out of it and leave.
Charmed: Piper Halliwell [ISFJ]
Introverted Sensing (Si): All Piper wants is a normal life. She longs for the days before her magical obligations interfered with weddings, funerals, baby showers, and family portraits. Unfortunately, her destiny as a Charmed One and her relationship with a Whitelighter constantly interrupt her attempts at normalcy and routine – much to her chagrin. Piper cares deeply about preserving family tradition, styling her hair after her mother’s on her wedding day and reading fairy tales to her unborn child. She respects authority and is more comfortable with convention than with exploring new possibilities. Her first concern upon receiving her powers is whether or not she’ll be able to cross the threshold of a church again. Later, during her first pregnancy, she repeatedly expresses her resolve to give birth in a hospital with a doctor as opposed to at home with a magical doula (as suggested by her high Ne-user siblings and Ni-dom husband).
Charmed: Phoebe Halliwell [ENFP]
Extroverted Intuition (Ne): Phoebe immediately embraces all of the possibilities of being a witch at its full. She is fascinated by the different concepts and ideas behind all of the witch craft. When in tough situations she can often think of ways out of it because her mind can see all of the different possible outcomes and solutions. She tends to come up with all the ideas and it is left to her sisters, Prue was the best at it, to force one into action because Phoebe can’t always narrow it down to just one. She is a naturally enthusiastic person but is known to have a bit of a scattered mind. When she first comes into the show it is clear that Prue thinks her lifestyle is too reckless and inconsistent which is true since she can sometimes have a hard time focusing on just one thing for too long since her mind can see so many other possibilities of what could be fun so she then wants to go and try them.
Charmed: Paige Matthews [ENTP]
Extroverted Intuition (Ne): Paige lives for making connections, pursuing enlightenment, and finding her greater purpose in life – a greater purpose that starts out as social work, then becomes witchcraft, then becomes Magic School, then becomes whitelighting… There are just so many possibilities. Always thinking outside of the box, she redecorates the Manor, reorganizes the kitchen herbs, and tries out a haiku when composing her first spell. She is unconventional, independent, rebellious, and creative, with hobbies that include sketching, painting, and dyeing her hair every color of the rainbow. Paige trusts her instincts and often insists on following a particular course of action when her gut tells her that it’s the right thing to do.

It declined in quality, yes, but it wasn't THAT bad. There are several shows that actually turned into ****. Dexter, True Blood, Scream Queens, Empire, Pretty Little Liars, etc....

Cole was done so wrong in the show. They literally had no idea what to do with his character in season 5 so they decided to kill him off putting an anticlimactic end to a character who deserved better. Why didn't Phoebe get any flack for becoming evil queen of the underworld? I think it is a big honking deal when a Charmed one chooses to side with evil, yet we didn't hear **** from the Elders when this happened. A witch marrying a whitelighter was much more serious to them! By the same logic, she should have been vanquished as well but only Cole was blamed for being evil when in reality he was possessed and at the end of season 4 Phoebe wanted to save him because she owed him. Then out of nowhere Season 5 begins with Phoebe planning to vanquish Cole and blaming him for **** all the time. It is laughable and tragic what the writers did to both characters, but the icing on the cake was when they brought back Cole in season 7 in a filler episode featuring only him and Piper. He said he was there because he didn't want Phoebe, the person who put him through hell literally and vanquished his ass, to lose faith in love. I was so done after that episode. A horrible conclusion to a horribly misused character.

It makes sense that Phoebe got no reprecussions after she rejoined the good side.
They needed her so that she completes the power of three, that is why the Elders didn't want to give her crap once she was back on their side.

And Phoebe was just as awful because she allowed it. Cole even wanted to kill himself, but Phoebe said no because it had to be on their terms.
Something happened after season 4 where the writers decided to retcon the fact that Phoebe willingly chose the side of evil. The baby did not influence her, and even if it did it's still poor writing because Cole was about to give up his powers to the wizard and Phoebe stopped him. After that the show kept blaming Cole for everything and Phoebe took no responsibility.
Cole's arc should have ended with his initial source vanquish.

Phoebe allowed what?
At the end of the day it just wasn't going to work out with Cole. She saw this when he became The Source and had no choice but to become his Queen as his wife. After he was vanquished (or banished) she learned to get over him, and then he became obsessed with her. Obsessed to the point where he couldn't bear live alone without her by his side. Maybe it was poor writing, but he had to go eventually.
