I think for Nicole the PCD itself was a concept group, so music under PCD were purely based on the PCD concept (i.e. sexy, fun, etc.) and also focused on getting hits. It was much more controlled and commercialised, which meant PCD also had a lot of promotions.
While Nicole as a soloist, the music is about Nicole and whatever Nicole feels like doing, everything just seems more relaxed and not rushed, shelving albums here and there, etc. This also means Nicole doesn't get as much promos.
Eh, I dunno, pros and cons I guess. I'd like for Nicole to be a huge global pop star but at the same time I'm kind of aware of the stress and other complications Nicole went through under the PCD which might be the reason why she's a bit more relaxed as a soloist. Maybe Nicole needs a really good management that can help balance it out for her, since there are other pop stars who seem to get everything together. To be honest, if I had go through what Nicole went through under PCD I'd probably take a 10 year vacation, so I can't entirely blame her.
