I dont know guys. Maybe we were too hype and our expectations were too high but i wasn't feeling Bey in that performance at all. First of all she spent an entire week rehearsing for that and it still was her weakest performance to date. She even managed to lip most of it. I felt like she could have done so much better with the song or just choose another song cause quite frankly, that song did NOT fit the award show at all.

We are Beyonce's fans and we know her a lot more so i know i'm not the only one not feeling this performance and feeling like Bey hated it also. She will watch this performance tonight and she will hate it. When she finished she was a bit down and it showed. Jay felt it too and kept being extra affectionate with her, more than usual and eventually you could see that calmed her and she was able to enjoy the rest of the show. By the end of the show, she was having fun again. Jay's a good husband and really helped her tonight because even during that performance, she was very nervous and almost shaking at times.

As a fan, i'm feeling something is wrong with her too. She needs Matthew again to be honest. I dont know, it's like since she had Blue, she is not as focused and she seems to still want it but she is phoning it in more. I dont agree with her new image either, trying hard with the sexy stuff. At this point in her career, she needs to focus on classic records and good performances, not putting on shorts and wear so little.

Damn why are you so extra for no reason? She needs Matthew? LMAO! "Beyoncé" is a classic record, her best album to date. She is a grown woman, she can do whatever she wants. You don't like it? Well that's your problem, move on.

I'm kind of disappointed. Her energy was so off...feels like she got upset about the technical issues and just checked out halfway through. She usually recovers well with any types of problems during shows -- she didn't handle it that well tonight.
I don't think she lipped tho. I've watched several times with headphones and you can hear really heavy reverb/mic effects echoing as well as a backing track chiming in on parts behind her. Reverb helps mask mistakes and fill out vocals; not really a necessity if she was doing pre-recorded because they could have edited her vocals to her liking, anyhow. Like if you watch the bit wear she's singing "swerve, surfing all in this good good" and laughs, you can hear the backing track laughter plus the reverb echo simultaneously -- I don't think they would have done all of that on purpose with a pre-recorded vocal because it sounded sloppy AF. There were several points where the vocal, reverb echo and backing track tripled up like that and it was really messy. No way that would have been done on purpose while pre-recording a track. I think that one bit where she finished saying "we be all night" quickly and pulled the mic away from her mouth for a split second, the echo from the reverb was bouncing back the note she'd just finished singing. There were other parts all through the song where her voice was obviously being echoed and she wasn't singing, but it didn't have the effect of looking "lipped" because the mic stayed in front of her.
Honestly with how off and sloppy that sound was at some points, I would be completely shocked to get any kind of official confirmation the earlier parts of the performance were pre-recorded.
Another annoying thing about the performance was them having to cut entire portions of audio out for the "how the hell did this **** happen" parts. I wish she would have just agreed to edit -- it wouldn't have compromised the quality to sing this how the hell did this "thing" happen or something. Those seconds of audio cut out kind of killed the flow a bit.
I still enjoyed it overall and she looked beautiful. I feel bad that it clearly didn't go the way that she planned and wanted it to go; I'm sure it would have been perfect if it could have been delivered the way she envisioned. She seemed to be extremely disappointed as well. Hopefully we'll get another performance before the tour resumes, but chances are we won't get to see this performance as it was meant to be seen and that really sucks.

LMAO the over reactions in here.since when does Bey need Mathew to have a decent performance?.This was her 1st time of performing it live so I didn't have any high expectations. No need to worry, the next time she perfoms it,it will be better. What's done is done,we can't change anything,so going on and on about this is pointless, let's just move on.

Me too. That waterfall thing makes sense watching the performance and you can see Bey being in the samme sad state as after Ring The Alarm at VMAs.
But to call Mathew after that, what kind of overreaction Let her live.
And... sometimes you lose. That's it.

Some of y'all are exhausting. And most of you hyped yourselves up, especially in that Grammy half time thread. Like seriously.

Shame about all the dissapointment. I happened to enjoy the performance, maybe it's because I didn't really think it's a song where you can deliver an all out extravaganza, and perhaps some of you hyped it up so much your expectations became unrealistic.
Was it suitable for an opening? Who knows? I'm not really a big watcher of awards shows, but it looked good to me.

I wouldn't mind if she performed it like this on tour...she just needs to workout some things, and add a few steps here & there and it could actually be great..and much more energy.

It's always good to have high expectations, but there reaches a point where expectations can become so lofty and warped that things are bound to disappoint in a big way. I think that's the case here.

Beyoncé has reached a level of performing that not many have reached. She's at top level along with the likes of MJ, Madonna, and Tina Turner.
For the beyhive and detractors, what more do you want from her? What's wrong with the level of performing that she's on? She's literally slaying everybody but you guys are saying it's underwhelming. Do you want her to deliver Whitney Houston's prime vocals while dancing on stilts? Or maybe she should forget about the music and turn her performances into a circus or carnival with animals jumping everywhere and flame throwers?
I think people forget that Beyoncé is not Madonna, Britney, Katy, or Gaga. She's not worried about how many things or theatrics she can cram into one performance. She's not worried about over the top ridiculous costumes. She's worried about the music first and foremost.
I have come to like Beyoncé because of her performance style. She has her band and a few dancers here and there but the main focus of her performance is always on her and the song being sung. If you want some over the top theatrics, please exit on stage left and find one of the numerous artist who's performances are like that.

Exactly. He is a thief and he broke the trust. Why would she bring him back?
And Beyonce is doing fine without him.

It was still the best performance of the night.
Y'all need to stop putting unrealistic expectations on Beyonce. She is human too.
