not everyone is obsessed with the swirl it's just a desperate and sad yet strong minority that makes a huge amount of noise
101 years today, 22 flawless, educated, powerful black women came together and formed the founding Alpha Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc at Howard University. Today, as the largest African American Greek Organization, the sorority is still going strong honoring their Five-Point Thrusts to better serve their community, country, be positive role models for their peers and younger generations, and overall continuing to serve God in hopes of a better tomorrow.

I mean they were the first. 106>101; however, there is a clear reason why our 22 Founders were all initially members of AKA and left to organize their own organization. They hated everything they stood for and felt like they didn't have an identity aside from Alpha Phi Alpha so they created DST because they wanted to serve for a bigger purpose. Alpha Kappa Alpha is largely a social organization while Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. is largely public service and aims to serve a bigger purpose. So while AKA was the first original all-black sorority, DST was the first to use their hands to serve the community.
