Neon Demon and Blair Witch was getting amazing praise before it came out.. now it seems like a flop based on people's review. Guess it didn't live up to the hype.
Good to hear Friend Request was good, because it didn't seem worth watching. Will give it a try.
That's honestly what I thought was gonna happen It would've been kinda cool tho.

Nobody can tell me why The Blair Witch Project is great. It's bland + there is no scare factor other than maybe (generously) the last 2 minutes. It's super boring and drawn out. It might have been original at the time, but that doesn't make it good.
I started to watch Lights Out but my friends got bored and gave up after like 15 mins. Might try watching it again.
Really wanna see Don't Breathe after hearing good things.
Also don't bother with Conjuring 2, just watch the original Enfield Haunting documentary on YouTube it's much scarier to actually hear and see the real evidence.

Blair Witch was extremely scary at the time, mainly due to the innovative shooting techniques. It was basically the pioneer of handheld horror movies, people had never really experienced that before and it terrified them. Obviously looking back it's not that scary into retrospect.. But neither is "Psycho" and that was scary at its time. Context of when a movie was released is really key here.
