Like most of the ROL songs, the demo is better "I've had a change of heart, I'll make a brand new start".
I can't @ the bukakke song beating out the last two ballads though.

I never liked Live To Tell that much
But I know it's important to her career.

This will never leave my mind when I listen to this song now.

Rain!
I'm glad it got this far! (even if it's Top 10 material imo)
It's probably my favourite Madonna ballad.

12. Papa Don't Preach
Points - 226
Ballots - 15 (Icing, conseeded, prayer, Ashuduff, Tainted Blood, HausOfJabril, Hey Gurl Hey, S.J., Onen, ImpressiveInstant, Retro Dance Freak, Junlin, Georges, Stephen)
Papa Don't Preach is one of Madonna's most iconic and successful songs. The lyrics are about keeping a baby, and being responsible about it. Madonna didn't write it, but she did change a few words around to her liking. It's never been my favorite, but I do love it.

This next song.... is 100,000,000x better than the #10.
But it is the one that barely misses the top 10.

Papa Don't Preach is amazing. A shame that she doesn't perform it in full on tour right now.

Madonna's first experience with Latin themes definitely was a success. The track wasn't as successful on the charts as the other four True Blue singles, but it received critical acclaim, and is considered a signature Madonna hit by many.
This needed to be in the top 5.
I wonder where "Borderline" and "Human Nature" will end up....

11. Justify My Love
Points - 249
Ballots - 11 (Ice Cream Skies, Von, Wilkes, Pink Panther, Jameson Teqkilla, jose168, Venus, adrianbeane, Hazzard, Clump, madonnas)
Justify My Love was a big career changer for Madonna. She upped the ante for controversy she had made with her Like a Prayer video, and the video was banned from MTV. The song has a subtle House/Trip-Hop beat sampled from Public Enemy, and was produced by Lenny Kravitz. It was THIS close.

YES at "Drowned World/Substitute for Love" in the top fifteen! One of my very favorite Madonna songs ever. I didn't think it would get much love.
So glad "Open Your Heart" and "Secret" made the top twenty.
"Forbidden Love" should be higher.
"Express Yourself" and "Don't Tell Me" should be MUCH higher. They were done wrong.

I never got the appeal in JML.
It's one of my least favorites from her.

I really like the groove and beat. Her talking is great too... it's an acquired taste though and easy to dislike.

Rain is very good but not more than Live to Tell.
CRAP, I was expecting Papa Don't Preach to make it further. Once again we get rid of all the singles from True Blue before the Top 10...
And I'm surprised Justify My Love made it that far. In the Immaculate Singles Rate I think it was below Erotica.

I probably shouldn't have voted for Erotica instead. Hope we get decent quality of the tour interlude mix.

The top 10 is:
Borderline (it's not out yet, is it?)
Into the Groove
Like a Prayer
Vogue
Human Nature
Ray of Light
Frozen
The Power of Good-Bye
Hung Up
Get Together?
That's my prediction.
