Yes, it's normal in the US. A lot of couples do engagement photos. They'll send it to their local newspapers and announce their engagement, use at their wedding, send to guests, etc.

Weddings are a big production sometimes. Two of my friends are getting married next year, and they're in full wedding planning mode. It's adorable and looks very overwhelming.... there's a lot of decisions.

I know about big weddings, I attended one last year. It cost more than 5250 US dollar which is really a lot here in the CR (not sure what amount of money is normal price for weddings for Americans tbh) and the couple divorced like 3 months after it. I really do hope that won't be Kelly's and Brandon's case.

Plus during her best moments in career she had dark hair - American Idol, Thankful (say what you want, she it is her second best-selling album), SUBG, Stronger era, so maybe dark hair brings her luck. My December tho...
