Season 1 was new & exciting. While it focused on some of the blandest characters, it was still great. A bit of S2 and most of S3 tried to recreate the best moments of S1 in different ways and it all felt flat.

It was the start of a great show. It was fresh and new I think that's why we like it so much maybe it wasn't perfect but it where it all started. I can't explain why it's my fave maybe that's why season two was amazing because we saw a lot happening and we got to know most of the cast. 3 was trash I just can't even try to watch it again. They focused a lot on the lady that can't talk I was like ugh plz stop this.

Just finished it. Probably the best season yet, but it's so... heavy and bleak compared to the other seasons. I didn't like S3 that much, so many stupid episodes and storylines and a lot of time was wasted on characters that weren't worth it and should only be used in small doses. I don't think Norma even got more than a minute of airtime this season so they definitely learned their lesson. This is a real return to form.

The show is a lot darker now, it's not centered around Piper anymore and there are a lot more characters - which I think is a good thing if they're looking to make 3 more seasons. Some people have said that 3 more seasons is too much, and that was my initial reaction too, but I've changed my mind if they can keep up the standard from this season. I wonder if the last season will be when some of the main characters get out and we see how they put their lives back together - something like that could keep the show from getting too stale and would be a way of closing it out too.

All the COs this season are trash - especially PISScatella and the good-looking one. I don't think even ****stache was ever that bad. Caputo is trash too for letting things get so out of hand. And they're going to get even more out of hand after that ending. Linda and MCC are trash too.

Mess at Piper sort of unintentionally rallying a white supremacy group and getting branded with a swastika. She had become so awful though that I think there needed to be some kind of punishment for there to be any chance of me warming to her again.

The relationship between Piper/Alex used to be my favourite thing about the show, but now, while I still like their scenes, I could easily do without them because of how well developed the other characters and storylines are. I enjoyed seeing Alex have a big storyline without Piper being too involved.

The most innocent and pure characters or the most vulnerable ones are the ones that got ****ed over the most this season - Poussey, Crazy Eyes, Lolly, Sophia

Incidents like Poussey's death happen in reality, and the white figures of authority responsible go unpunished for it. I kind of thought Crazy Eyes was going to get killed in a similarly tragic way in the previous episode when Humphrey was trying to stir up a fight between her and one of the rednecks - something like that happening just felt inevitable because of the tension between the guards and the prisoners all season, particularly with their treatment the black and non-white prisoners, and also the racial tensions amongst the prisoners themselves.

What the HELL is going to happen to the race relations now?? They are all united in the very end, obviously, but Daya originally aimed the gun at the white supremacist leader... And the supremacists are gathering weapons and shivs to start an all-out war against the non-white groups... I think the Dominicans, Hispanics, and Blacks are going to join forces against the whites next season... Dunno where Red's family is going to fall in all of this. It seems like she wants her family out of the way of all the drama, but Red is always pulled into drama regardless.

I think a lot of this is going to rest on who becomes the dominant force with the new shipment of inmates coming in. Though, that might be at the end of Season 5.

Also, what the hell is going to happen to Officer Bayley? I honestly do not hate him for killing my favorite character. I think he's still a good guy and it was entirely an accident and an awful situation as a whole. But, I fear he will be killed if he goes back to Litchfield. That boy had better run. And I don't know what's going to happen to PISScatella.

Also, do y'all think we're going to get new COs? Obviously the disgusting, psychotic one that brought in the gun is going to go because he broke a huge rule that let inmates obtain a gun.

Yeah, for a second I thought Daya was actually going to shoot the WhiteLivesMatter (mess at that name) group. But even the racists said that they hate the guards more than they hate black people - that's the one thing that unites all the prisoners I guess.

There seem to be a clear distinction between the white supremacists and the non-racist whites (or at least ones who don't act on their prejudice/racism) so Red's group will probably be kept out of it - Piper might be the only one in real danger because she was seen as the leader of the white supremacists.

I agree on Bailey, he is probably the only CO who isn't a scumbag (perhaps the female one too) - what happened to Poussey was a tragic accident, but it was the result of how corrupt the prison actually is and how poorly it is run, which is why it was so infuriating to see Caputo and MCC trying their best to play it down for the media. I thought Danielle Brooks was brilliant in the finale, portraying Taystee's anger and frustration over how her friend's death was treated.

It would be great if Judy used her celebrity status to speak out on the incident and against the prison next season, she did call Poussey a friend afterall and the scene where she offered her a job seemed genuine - but her character seems too self-centred and she'll probably just be glad if she makes it out of the prison alive.

Well, a lot of people are angry at the amount of lesbian characters that have died on TV this year and Poussey was just added to the pile. It's no secret that the first characters killed on television shows are often minorities and it's usually only for the shock factor.

This show has always been building to the real horrors of the prison system. They got complaints from S1 that it wasn't realistic enough. They were drawing parallels with Bayley and Poussey in the last two episodes. Bayley got off scot-free for smoking weed, underage drinking, and trespassing. On the other hand, Poussey does the same thing and gets jail time. We all know why. But Bayley has always been a sympathetic character. He's untrained and it's shown as an accident. In the end, the audience isn't blaming either of them and that ignores the reality of police brutality and dehumanization of black people. Often it's intentional and the perpetrator still gets victimized, so I get the frustrations people may have there with the portrayal of the storyline.

The show isn't over though and repercussions will follow into next season. I think the writers managed to get the general idea across. I get why they chose who they did. I know her death wasn't pointless like a lot of the other deaths I've seen on TV this year/in the past. There's still representation on this show too, so small victories I guess

This is true. But depending on how the COs are handled... I don't know how long hatred of the COs will unify them.

Hmm... That's the only way I can see Red getting pulled in for the time being. Red is one of the most pivotal inmates in terms of influence. If it gets really serious, I could see Gloria reclaim her rightful place as mom. But, Mariah is doing a good job. Which leads me to wonder what is going to happen regarding Maria's very illegal drug smuggling operation.

I actually didn't hate Donuts this season... I don't think he's a scumbag. He is definitely a racist, but he isn't an awful person. I think that's because he wasn't aware that he raped Doggett. He seemed to have actually believed that she was consenting to it, when she wasn't. That makes him a dangerous idiotic rapist. But I don't think he's a scumbag. When he realized what he did, he really wanted to make amends for it and seemed to actually get genuinely upset about how the women were being treated to the point that he decided he can no longer work at the prison because it is terrible for him to see it. So I don't hate him like I did last season. He's still a rapist, but I don't hate him.

I really miss Figueroa.

See, I don't think she will... I hope she does, but I don't think her leaving the prison left a good impression on her. And she's kind of a bitch.

i don't think she's gonna comment/make a statement about the prison, what i got from her character is that she's meant to represent tumblr's view of Hilary Clinton (not my view, but tumblr's, i believe that bc this season borrowed a lot of social justice talk from tumblr let's be fair) and if that's right then they were trying to make her seem like someone who manipulates the minorities to be on her side but when **** hits the fan she runs the other way and leaves them. in short, she just says and does anything to get supporters.

i was rooting for her to get out and make a statement in the last episode but after thinking about her character for a while i really don't think she will, i think in season 5 Daya (or another inmate) will hold her as hostage and use her as a bargaining chip for something.. idk. maybe the inmates will force/blackmail her to use her celebrity status to expose litchfield? that's what i'm hoping will happen
