No we wouldn't. Besides, 40 on Mediabase IS NOT a hit. Top 20 is a hit. Top 40 is okay, but it didn't do that well. Top 10 is great, #1 is AMAZING! Rehab has only peaked at #38. That's not a hit. Especially for Rihanna and her huge positions.

For the Veronicas getting top 40 is amazing since it hasn't been done by them before and especially since they're Australian and Aussie music almost never makes it big in the states. Rihanna has had like 10 consecutive top 10s, so top 40 to her means absolutely nothing.

Nope. There are no double standards. As I Got Soul said, any peak in the top 40 for "Rehab" would be great.

As for your definition. Top 40 on Mediabase is a hit. That's why it's a "Top 40". Just top 20 and beyond is more notable.

I agree with the first.
LYL doesn't count. "Forever" had no problem taking off when "No Air" was huge. This is no different.

"Take a Bow" is recurrent, so it shouldn't matter. Besides that point, most of her songs are still getting airplay.

It's not actually going slow, it's going just about right. It didn't take Disturbia longer than this to go top 40, so shut up. Right now, it's done nothing except do an average climb up the charts. We can't really say if it's a hit or not yet b/c it is FAR from peaking.

Compared to the peaks of the singles before them, yes, they are flops. They did average, though. Not a hit necessarily, but just average. I mean, look at how well the singles before them did.

Girlfriend - top 5/When You're Gone top 20
AGT didn't do too well, but Maneater and Promiscuous went top 20/10
