I just can't....
If a song don't go #1, artist will make remix version, say to their fans go buy it, perform the song on tv shows, reduce the price etc.
Just to get that #1?
So glad Lighters is doing to well without a remix version, without any promo, without performing it on tv show, and without telling people on Twitter or facebook to go but it!

So you don't think it is right for an artist to promote their work/music? Why not capitalize on the song?

Lfn and most songs that have done similar tactics were doing much better than lighters, which has rap and male pop's top sellers on it
U think eminem was just oh so inspired to have two ppl known for infectious hooks on his past two big hits?

Please call me when Eminem has a 5th single doing as well as LFN.
I love Em, but give us Katy Kats some leverage here. We wanna break a record...and apparently Capitol records do not.
Eh, throwing out a last minute remix to get a #1 isn't the same as featuring someone popular on your song.
I'm not dissing artists who do the former, but the sole purpose of those last minute remixes is to get a week at #1 because the original had trouble going there.
I love LMFAO album, Sorry for Party Rocking. Is champagne showers the next US single?
Champagne Showers is so inferior to PRA, I hope they have better songs on their album to follow up PRA.
And people need to get over the fact LFN is getting a remix, as long as everything complies with the chart rules all is fair. Any artist can release a remix it's not like Katy is getting special treatment. If people are willing to buy the original and the remix then let them
LFN is already #1 on radio breaking records. Strugling on iTunes (that was expected) well because it's 5th single from 1 year old album.
Her label released video too early when the song barely had any good airplay and ruined her chances, a lot. Now they need to fix that. I don't care how.
With NO PROMO, NO MUSIC VIDEO, NO LIVE PERFORMANCES. She is going perfect! With an amazing music video and a few live performances, Cheers will be #1..
Am I the only Katycat not heartbroken that LFN might not hit #1? I don't want her to experience backlash from MJ fans and if the song itself isn't enough to reach the top then I don't want her to resort some cheap tactic to manipulate the charts.
On a separate note, does anyone else think "E.T." could have topped the chart without getting remixed?
I'm very happy for "Cheers". Didn't even think it would be released as a single. I've been playing it quite a bit lately. I'm also pleasantly surprised at Five Finger Death Punch and Switchfoot soaring up iTunes with their respective lead singles. I hope they can sell enough to debut on the Hot 100 next week.

1. You're not KatyCat
2. I want to get those MJ stans mad, well they're already... but I want huge meltdowns
3. She's not the 1st nor last artist do do that

Duh. 5 weeks @ #1, 4.6 million sold and 2 versions in Top 2 at one moment.
