Magic guard only prevents indirect damage. So in reality its a better version when it comes to status since its now immune to being paralyzed as well. But Magic Guard also protects from curse and leech seed so it depends how you look at it.

Nothing but sleep can status effect it. Basically you can't cripple it. Basically if its built to be a defensive Pokemon or even a sweeper, you can't cripple it with Poison, Para , or burn.
But lol we know nothing about it right now. It's really dependent on its move pool and stats.
