I was working it out before by thinking of when she was competition to Gaga and WUIV hit #1 on the pop chart the week before or after LoveGame and then CG was out with Alejandro so yeah it was a pretty short break. It's crazy how fast people forgot about her given that she had features out too.

True, but her features flopped in the US (they were really successful here). Katy's problem is that she's only as memorable as her last single, someone said that before. She sells singles because her songs are extremely catchy, people aren't necessarily interested in her and that's why her albums don't sell well. Their sales are extremely lacklustre compared to her singles.

That's true. As much as I love Katy and her music, she doesn't have a very big loyal, core fanbase that actually buys her albums. Most people who listen to her Singles, I assume, are casual Top 40 listeners.

Compared to that, Gaga has really succeeded in building a hardcore cult following around her...the problem now is - as we've said - that these people's expectations are now soaring skyhigh.

Katy should take a risk next era & release another ballad. TOY gained her more respect.

I bought all of Katy Perry's singles, but I haven't listened to either of her albums in full. I'm just not interested enough, and I like all of her singles...

I think GaGa is approaching her peak or has already peaked. I never expected her to be able to maintain the high level of popularity she has reached throughout her career. I don't think she's going to flop in the near future but who knows? Anything could happen.

A lot depends on the accessability and mainstream appeal of her first single.

I was disappointed in how the Alejandro video was a sign of abandoning her Andy Warhol/Bauhaus inspiration...I really hope she doesn't keep pursuing its style that I personally deem too depressing and 'artsy'. I believe it would lead to irrelevancy.

She needs to keep making catchy beats and lyrics that people remember. Like the 'Rah rah' part in Bad Romance. That was amazing.

TD will be going platinum by either the end of this year (if sales maintain - it sold 75K in the US this week) or during the first quarter of 2011. It's holding up well, which it should be with Firework exploding.

IDK where it's at worldwide. It might be able to go 2x platinum WW if things keep up.

i kinda agree... but its too early too tell 100% .. but overall i do feel she is at her prime, peak , but she wont fade either
