If she's indeed signing on to X Factor, I hope she makes an agreement to at least do Cats from July-September and then join the panel for the Judges Houses/Live shows like it happened in 2012 where they had celebrity guests for the auditions.
I just can't wrap my head around the fact that she would choose X Factor instead of Cats. She's been talking about Cats for so long and how much she wanted to do it and Andrew wanted her to do it.
Unless they are still considering other people to play Grizabella and they are not completely set on Nicole.
They've announced the entire cast yesterday with the exception of Grizabella so everything is still in the air.

The perfect scenario would be to do Cats from July-September, maybe perform at the Tony's this summer to promote the revival, and then join X Factor in October, with her contract assuring her of major promotional spots for her upcoming music.

Simon seems to desperately want Nicole for this year so she should milk that contract as much as she can. Not just money, she should secure great promotional platform for the new album.

This way, she'll make her Broadway debut which will definitely gather a lot of attention on her in the US, she'll win the UK public back with X Factor, and she'll have a great platform for the new album.

If there's one person who can juggle all that, it's Nicole with her insane work ethic.

I am so dissapointing atm for the choices she made. It's her life, her career and her descision, but she finally was on track to build towards an acclaimed phase of her career and her returning to become a TV personality again, isn't helping that. I love the woman to death, but If we don;t get any single or music promotion during XFactor or something other major in the UK to actually make sense out of this descision, than idk how I feel about her. I mean I will keep enjoying her music. But this must be one of the most stupid career descisions of the last years by someone.

I can't at fans defending the descision on social media. some people even claim Cats never did anything for her career. Cats was just a climax of what her relationship with Andrew was. He rooted and nurtured her. He gave her oppertunities like Phantom and Don't Cry For Me Argentina etc. and it also opened the doors to the Ill Divo collabo and her collabo with Andrea Bocelli. Damn the fact she burned her bridges with Andrew. One of her most honest supporters.

I think the producers are at fault here. Andrew did say he went on a limb for her, since the US people weren't that familiar with Nicole. Maybe they were hesitant to finalize the contract because they weren't sure about Nicole taking the role.
She did turn down X FActor 2 weeks ago for Broadway. I'm guessing she was waiting for the contract to be finalized. And when it wasn't, and she was running out of time, she choose X Factor.

This sounds more believable than what Andrew said tbh. You can say a lot about Nicole and the decisions she makes, but she's very professional and has a lot of respect for Andrew so there's no way she would pull out of Cats a week before rehearsals to go with X Factor.

I hope it's a lesson for Ollie and the rest of her team to just clarify things as soon as they are known. I know there are several parties involved. But in this kind of cases, I wish she would have done a personal statement on social media, I mean she shouldn't need to do it. But it would have come in handy if she could have atleast confirm personally that the contract was never finalized and that she assumes everything around ALW is a misunderstanding and that she and her team assumed that because that oppertunity didn't go through, she decided to go with XFactor.

I mean X Factor? Really? I love this woman to death and I have questioned her decisions before, but this will ruin her. Andrew is so iconic and the way he praised Nicole was amazing..

If this whole thing is true, she deserves all the dragging she's getting. Period.. Can't she notice the amount of praise she got during CATS? Since her solo career, this was IT. But I'm guessing she still wants to bag that hit. I mean sure, X Factor has offered her some good dough, but she could have looked at the bigger picture.. I'm so mad right now.

Yeah, I doubt she's going to use the X Factor for the mixtape. It's just going to be a bonus or something.

Do you guys still think the mixtape is coming? If it is, she should drop it in early June, while shooting the auditions. It'd be a great timing, since every tabloid pay attention to what's happening in the xfactor judges lives. And while posting about the auditions, they'd add about Nicole's mixtape and etc. And then she could release a new single in the live shows.

But I dont know if she has enough, strong and single-material stuff yet. She was just starting to record the album when she started to shoot Dirty Dancing. I really dont see a full album comig this year - unless she uses songs from early 2015 or older.
