Many members are being warned for "Annoying" but a mod said that the annoying points are subjective and can't really be up for discussion.
Members are posting comments to joke about an artist who they clearly stan for and being warned for it, i understand the mods can't keep up with who we all stan for BUT people seem to not be able to take jokes at all.
The rules for NHB and SYG are being enforced to make it seem like you can only bash arist a "certain way" amd members a "certain way"
Members are also being warned for "pointless" "annoying" and "flamebait" for stating their opinions in a non hostile way. People shouldn't be able to control what you say AND how it is said. We are all different.

I actually agree. They would just be duplicates of threads we already have

I like that there aren't picture sigs. Even with a pixel limit most of them look pretty bad. And without them you have to step up your avatar game and have a flawless one at all times like I do.
I also love the custom user title system, which many forums don't have, or don't allow members to use.

Maybe because you were always just having random banter in there, and commenting when some one gets banned ? And you always bitch about your WPs , I don't understand why ya'll do that. Who gives a eff if you get banned for a month will you miss it that much ?

I have a few questions lined up regarding ATRL.
1. if I want to discuss a users membership status (see below)
and then follow that with an insult, which section would I use?
No Holds Barred, or HQ?
2. If I wanted to criticize a mods work in an explicit manner, would I use HQ or NHB?
3. If HQ is in place, what purpose does the help tool now serve?
4. Why are emoticon only posts warned?
Emoticons are another way of emoting, which can mean just as much as an "this is funny" and such.
This can be said for gifs as well.
Are they warned when a quote is attached?

Then YOU start dragging people. SYG is NOT just for dragging artists.
_
And I don't have a problem with "excessive" moderation, but it seems like a bunch of members are trying to get people to have WPs not because they're breaking the rules, but because they just simply want another user to have a WP and take a chance. And it seems like some moderators can just warn a person for what they think is against the rules, but most of the WPs here in the last couple weeks were from people who had NO clue they were even breaking the rules.
I have a lot of problems with the use of "POintless" WPs because I am a firm believer that less is more, and if you can describe what you mean in just elipses, or a smiley, then that's fine.

In NHB people got ban for "abuse" of the thread because they defended a member or commente on an argument.
- As far as I know, you're allowed to comment on arguments as they unfold, so i definitely have no idea about this. Maybe try talking to the mod who gave those warnings?
In SYG the discussion changed to men, and how the girls stanned for them and a certain mod handed out warning points and said they were off topic.
- It's my understanding that the conversation got "off topic" for talking about hot men which isn't necessarily stanning or trolling. Again, I would not warn this, but I can definitely see why the mod warned these.
People are getting warned for replying only with an emoticon and we have been doing that FOREVER!
- This type of posts has been warned for years, although, admittedly, not that often, but gif-only or smilie-only replies definitely fall under pointless.
Many members are being warned for "Annoying" but a mod said that the annoying points are subjective and can't really be up for discussion.
- Yup, this is actually the only warning that cannot be fought. If you're hit with "Annoying", a moderator got annoyed, subjectively, by you so there really isn't much to do here.
Members are posting comments to joke about an artist who they clearly stan for and being warned for it, i understand the mods can't keep up with who we all stan for BUT people seem to not be able to take jokes at all.
- This has also been brought up several times in the Mod Squad, and we always come to the conclusion that there's no way to tell apart "friendly" dragging from vicious dragging, so you will likely get warned for both.
The rules for NHB and SYG are being enforced to make it seem like you can only bash arist a "certain way" amd members a "certain way"
- This has been in place for a long time. NHB and SYG used to be free-for-all zones but it eventually got out of control with certain members posting extremely racist, homophobic or otherwise ignorant insults. You'll have to drag members without having to resort to such low tactics.
Members are also being warned for "pointless" "annoying" and "flamebait" for stating their opinions in a non hostile way. People shouldn't be able to control what you say AND how it is said. We are all different.
- I personally never warn flamebait. Usually if you get a warning from me, it will be when it's blatantly obvious Trolling. If you're hit with "Flamebait", I also suggest trying to contact the moderator that issued the warning. Opinions are sometimes taken out of context and we're glad to reconsider unfair warnings. As for "Annoying" and "Pointless", I already explained those in preceding paragraphs.

How do we know which mod thread banned us? Do we just send a help request?

All these threads to attack people and celebrities but no threads to defend anyone.
And then we have to check in with them first and ask questions before we post something because of these blurry ass rules that can't be clearly defined.

I'd just steer clear of doing that for now. The problem ATRL is facing right now is that the "rules" of the forum are becoming overabundant. You can insult artists in SYG, but not members, but there's a whole list of separate rules about insulting artists in SYG. And then you can insult members in NHB, but not artists, but there's a whole other list of rules about insulting members in NHB, but then you have HQ -- where you can talk about members? But... not insult them? But, technically, you can comment on members fighting in NHB in HQ, according to the rules of HQ. Mix in the list or report reasons and the occasional (or frequent?) alleged biased behaviour, and it's just overwhelming, especially if you're a brand new member who wants to enjoy the forum. Members may be warned for commenting with only gifs or emoticons to express emotion. Members may even be warned for using the same avatar as another member. I mean, the list goes on. I think mods or whoever is in charge of the forum needs to take a step back, re-evaulate and simplify these rules or conditions, in general. HQ is essentially a subforum of NHB, and I wouldn't be surprised if HQ has a subforum of its own in the future, with its own set of rules. All of this is unneeded, in my opinion. Simplify. Adding more and more rules doesn't necessarily make a better forum.
...Vin

You are saying simplify but when you look at the reports, it's not easy.
So many people like to whine about their celebrities getting bashed.
If not that, oh no, they're hating on me for liking said celebrity.
Maybe it'd be easier to simplify if everyone didn't throw a fit with everything.
Also, ATRL was not always "messy".
There were dumb arguments about celebrities and post-whoring but the members had just as much fun.
You can't say mods shouldn't do something when reports still come in.
If there are members complaining about an issue, it makes every damn sense to try to make it better.
Oh and I only mentioned avatars before because if a member does not LIKE their own avatar being used by another person, they have every right to ask to have it removed out of common courtesy.
Pictures in signatures were never allowed before, so I don't know why that matters.
Also, I still stand by the idea that if they were stated as warnings before, they are not new rules.

You can do that, or ask a mod in their wall or PM (although some get annoyed by that ) and we will happily relay the message to the one involved.
