I don't know tbh. Probably a gimmick to help them be more memorable amongst lots of new group debuts.

I'm not shading their looks since they're all kind of flaw-free in that department, in that perfect SM-idol way. I'm just saying that some of them are basic. Which one is Se Hun anyway? Outside of Kai and D.O. I can't tell them apart. Even looking at them individually, they look the same to me.
It's easy to recognize Chanyeol, Se Hun, and obviously Kaisus Christ. The rest look a bit similar, I see how it's hard to tell them apart.

I was just watching EXO-M's version of History and tbh I'm a bit more excited about them. I mean, obviously I'm here for KAI first and foremost, but EXO-M looks more interesting overall.

The Chinese music industry is, unfortunately, a mess. It's a given that -M will be the lesser group by a mile in terms in popularity. I hope SM has a plan for them in case it doesn't work out in China, which it very well might not. Maybe they'll eventually bring the -M members back to Korea and make one 12-member EXO, the new, less basic SuJu?

EXO-K are flaw-free and kind of look cold, which turns people off, they're not exactly likeable imo. But EXO-M look like normal human beings, and have this "underdog quality" about them. & It's always more exciting to stan for the underdogs.
