It's all worked out in favor of those against LFN hitting #1 really. LMFAO held it off long enough for Lighters to gain on it. If LMFAO stays ahead of it again this week then I think it's done. By then Lighters will have a decent amount of AI to go with the major boost it would get from being #1 on itunes, not to mention the clean version giving it extra sales. If LFN keeps falling Super Bass might pass it on the Hot 100 at this rate.

What is this LFN remix though? What does it have to offer? Without featuring another huge artist I don't see it having much impact. At least not enough to boost sales by almost 30-40%. The S&M sales boost only lasted about 4 days and that was featuring Britney of all people.

Although her airplay is only increasing, I would think Katy needed both a remix AND a discount to reach #1 at this point.

I believe the rumor was Missy Elliot is on the remix. The remix will come with a banner and with the airplay gap increasing for Katy it could be enough to boost her for a week at the top spot. I doubt the remix will have any longevity seeing as the song is old, just like the other remixes. With Katy's immense digital power, though, anything is possible.

As much as I don't think this song is worthy of being #1 it sucks that the song that keeps blocking it is even worse (PRA).
