Spirit Circle (Manga): A beautiful ending. A story where the journey is more important than the destination. If you have a Crunchyroll manga account, read this and The Lucifer and Biscuit Hammer, both written by Satoshi Mizukami. Superb.

I liked the first few episodes of Season 1. It was a strong introduction, very pretty, and Aladdin and Morgiana were super likable. Eventually, the show slowly started to get worse. The Balbadd Arc dragged on for WAY too long. Everything went to the dumps: animation quality (the show was nigh unwatchable at points, it was so ugly), the pacing, the main characters (Aladdin and Morgiana are shoved aside for Alibaba, who is insufferable), the terrible villains, etc. Even the ending to the arc, which most people praised, I found super cheesy. And then the final arc of the season was boring and nonsensical.
Now, Season 2 is a major improvement on nearly every level. The budget increase makes the show look consistently good, the writing is tighter, and the world and story was fleshed out well. The characters were much better as well. The main villain of the season was wonderfully written, Alibaba got reduced screentime and was instantly more tolerable (he also got many Ls, which pleased me), and other characters both new and old got moments to shine. It was legit good, and I'm glad I got through it.
The 1st Season isn't awful by any means, it's just disappointing after a solid start. If you like Shounen and the first few episodes, stick with the show, it might work better for you than it did for me. Whether you like or dislike the 1st Season, I'd recommend the 2nd Season, because it's superior in every way.
