Don't be so paranoid about her losing #1 on the Billboard 200 either. These next few weeks aren't as important as how The Edge of Glory performs over the course of the summer and how they market her during the coming months and into the holiday season.
Remember, The Fame never hit #1 and it's schooling all of these albums.

-- Lady Gaga: As "Born This Way" blasts in atop the Billboard 200, "The Edge of Glory," the album's third radio single, rebounds 19-8 on the Hot 100 with the chart's Greatest Gainer/Digital award (after debuting at No. 3 two weeks ago). The song storms 14-4 on Hot Digital Songs (165,000, up 74%), while jumping 37-24 on Hot 100 Airplay (39 million, up 31%). Two other tracks from "Born" enter the Hot 100 on the strength of digital sales - "You and I" (No. 37; 83,000) and "Marry the Night" (No. 79; 35,000) - while last week's top Hot 100 entry "Hair" (No. 12) and prior radio release "Judas" (No. 41 last week) depart, victims of iTunes "Complete My Album" single-to-album upgrade (as those tracks translate to track returns, per SoundScan tabulation).

I like this album, but it's no masterpiece. Her muse is Bruce Springsteen...but at times it feels like a cheap, bastardized version of the passion and earnestness of his early work (the whole "leather kids in the streets fight 4 ur life!11"). The production is very off-putting at times, sounding way too cluttered which hides some beautiful melodies. It's like a drag show; big, fun and flamboyant...yet it you try to analyze it and take it too seriously, like if you'd try to study a drag show as an exploration of the dichotomy of male and female roles in modern society, it's a mess because there's not much beneath the glittery surface. I find her message of "be yourself" to be somewhat hollow...it ignores many of the important questions that come with the search for you own identity, but as a catchy pop album it works well. Sorry for the rambling review, I give it a 7.5/10.

I think you're taking it too seriously. It's a pop album, and as such it fulfills its aim! It's fun and dark at the same time.
You have incredibly catchy songs, Of course, not all of them are amazing, but most are gems.
I think when you start using the "dichotomy" for a pop album, and try to do a sociologic or philosophic analysis for a pop album, you miss the point...

Except that there are pop albums with plenty of substance which can be analyzed.

From Tumblr:
Let's help "The Edge of Glory"! Radio plays = public interest = sales + more radio play = better chart performance.
This will help Gaga on the American charts. If you’re outside America, you won’t be able to do #3, #4 and #5, but the rest should be working fine.
1 - Vote for ‘The Edge of Glory’ on the American Top 5 (KIIS FM). http://www.kiisfm.com/pages/ryan_at5
2 - Vote for ‘The Edge of Glory’ on JoJo’s 9@9. http://www.kiisfm.com/pages/jojo_9at9
3 - Text “Play The Edge of Glory” to 55100 (Z100).
4 - Text “Request The Edge of Glory” to 41027 (KIIS FM).
5 - Text 69923 and ask them to play “The Edge of Glory”.
6 - Request “The Edge of Glory” on Z100. Choose only TEOG and not any other of Gaga’s songs, so they won’t know you’re a fan: http://www.z100.com/pages/info/request.html
7 - Request “The Edge of Glory” to your local radio station. http://www.twitlonger.com/show/96km4f
8 - Listen to “The Edge of Glory” on Lady Gaga’s VEVO account. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S08KonZiew4
9 - Select “The Edge of Glory”, enter your name, enter the code at the bottom of the page and hit submit. http://tinyurl.com/ydnft6w
10 - Call 1-800-669-1010 and ask them to play “The Edge of Glory”. One play here = 25 radio plays, it’s good for the charts. This only works on weekends after 7pm EST.
Everything I listed is free (the texts are toll free, you only pay what you usually pay when you text)! Don’t request the song more than once an hour or it’ll count as spam.

HDD Sales Prediction: http://www.hitsdailydouble.com/news/rumormill.cgi
Lady Gaga (Interscope) 180-195k
Adele (XL/Columbia) 120-130k
Adele is taking the #1 spot again like in 2 weeks
also: SALES BREAKDOWN: Amazon wound up selling 460k downloads, representing a huge chunk of the 1.1m total, while iTunes sold in the neighborhood of 190k. As for the rest, Best Buy moved around 140k, Target about 90k andWalmart roughly 80k. Indie retail and the 21k non-trad outlets accounted for the remaining 150k. Interestingly, 55% of physical sales were on the deluxe version. (6/2a)
