It has been a very eventful week in the music business. Last week we saw the death of two: Lady Gaga and SC Records. Lady Gaga released a posthumous album after the fatal car crash (that we decided is ineligible to chart… click

How to Lose Weight in Only Ten Days!
Ke$ha dominates the chart this week with two songs in the top 5: B.I.T.C.H and Destroyed, which zooms into the chart at #1 this week. Ke$ha has performed the song numerous times, including a grand performance at SNL, and it’s rumored that she breaks down into tears every time. The smash hit was produced by Calvin Harris.

Coming in at #2 is another debut, Taylor Swift’s sassy Don’t Call Me (Maybe). The song was advertised extensively, even in the thread title (as we’re writing this, we are not sure of what “thread” is being spoken about, but we’re high as **** so we’re just gonna keep going). Since both Destroyer and Don’t Call Me (Maybe) are the third singles from their respective discs, this marks the first time in history that the top 2 has been comprised of two third singles, an impressive feat!
Britney Says, “I Can Lick My Toes With My Bellybutton”
Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Ke$ha and others have been dominated for most of the game but it is the new hot-headed artist Chris Brown with his debut single Maniac that skyrockets to #3. The single has been receiving great (one might even say horrendous) amounts of media attention. No artist has had their debut single debut so high since last week, when Kelly Clarkson debuted at #1 with her debut.
Adele’s Sextape Leaks Online!
At #4 we see yet another debut, Cher Llyod’s second single B.I.T.C.H with a feature from Ke$ha. The song was performed on SNL with Ke$ha on Saturday. Cher Llyod has also been receiving a lot of media attention after she was found drunk and lost and because of her confusing feud with Chris Brown. Both artists involved report the feud is no longer ongoing.

Finally at #5 we see the only song in the top 5 that isn’t a debut, Kanye West’s Numb featuring Jay-Z. The song was performed at an awards show and received rave reviews, with Uglycritic rating the performance 2/10, the highest score they’ve given in 3,000 years. The highest score before that was Ooga’s performance of Ooga Is Ooga, Ooga Throw Rock with a 2.5/10.

Outside of the top 5. we see Kelly Clarkson’s Spill It Say It flopping all the way to #20, marking both the biggest fall from #1 and the biggest fall ever, a record we here at Billboard do not believe will be beat for a very long time, if ever. Her country single Homewrecker is one position below at #21., marking the second biggest fall ever.
It’s also worth noting that Ke$ha and Taylor have both had three singles, come from major labels and have exactly one #1 single and two #2 singles (not including features), making their careers almost paralleling each other.
Next week the chart will be cut off at 20 songs so be sure to promote your artists, labels!
