The show is not perfect by any means, but Lord the fans of it have made it far more troublesome and laboring than it really needed to be.

And all these damn conspiracy theories on who does what, how much control...when this show is no different than any singing competition on TV, it's not rocket science that the producers get first and final say.
And on top of all that, the way we dissect Britney and Demi as if they are a lab experiment is crazy,. checking every word, every outfit, every look. THIS SHOW IS NO LONGER FUN. At the risk of being warned, I think she's a terrible judge and I don't think she's a particularly good mentor. She's had numerous opportunities to explain questionable song selections, but instead of actually explaining her thought process, she offers a single sentence retort that isn't particularly funny or intelligent. I mean, when she was talking about Beatrice having more talent in her pinky than all of Simon's acts combined... That was the perfect opportunity for her to step in, defend her decisions as a mentor, and support her act. But she can't--because she can barely string a single sentence together. I really think she has to be medicated to get through the show because she seems so aloof and disinterested. I don't think she ever really offers anything of value at all. Demi might be a terrible mentor, but at least she can articulate herself when she's critiquing a performance. I wish Khloe or someone would actually press Britney to try and get her to open up a little, but Britney just comes off so wooden and robotic. I think she's worse than Nicole Scherzinger. She is a terrible judge. We know that fact and I actually do agree with most of what you said (except for sanity and mentoring bit).

Her mentoring skills aren't being overrated in the slightest either. They're right on the mark honestly, she's done a great job with all of her contestants. ALL of her contestants have also said that she's nothing like how she appears to be on live tv and is really cool and fun. I definitely would like to see her being more like Demi though, in that I want her to show more personality, give much better comments, fight back and DEFEND her acts.

I know I complain a lot but I agree with pretty much everything. I was actually one of the few people on here that watched the last season and like you said I was able to enjoy it more because I didn't give two ***** about Paula and Nicole but having my fave on it has made it such a mess for me.

Look, I'm a Nicole and Cheryl stan but that has nothing to do with my assessment of Britney as a judge/mentor. I really like Britney and wanted her to do well too. I wanted X Factor to revitalize her career in the way that it breathed life into Cheryl Cole's... But the fact of the matter is that Britney isn't doing very well and the dynamic at the judge's table shows it. Not only that, but i don't even think Britney is trying to do well. She's just been phoning it in, the same way she's been phoning most things related to her career for the past five years. These aren't the words of a bitter Cheryl/Nicole stan still holding a grudge because the producers kicked my girl(s) to the curb... I'm really just a disappointed fan who feels that Britney could offer so much more to this show if she would just make a little effort. I just expected more from Britney, I guess.
i think Demi was just a hiring mistake. She's only just beginning to establish herself as a mainstream pop artist on her own. How could she possibly be expected to mentor hopeful popstars?
I'm sorry Demi, but no Arin did not deserve to go. America had 1 of the bottom two correct and that was Paige, but the other should have still been one of your acts, aka Cece.
Arin is one of the only acts in my opinion, to have consistently delivered. I don't understand why he isn't doing better. But he deserves to be there over Cece and Paige.

I have yet to see anything from Cece since the live shows to show me, she deserves to stay. Her last good performance was Sexy And I Know It (which I thought was great).

I honestly thought she did better than quite a few this week and the comments just did not make sense, her vocals werent great yet they praise Paige and Beatrice and Lyric 145 who didnt exactly give a vocal performance.
Tbh I dont want Arin out yet, I'd rather Beatrice go out before him, I do need CeCe to ste it up and I just dont understand the Paige fascination the judges have.
