Its just an acoustic version of Love Story, and it is actually by Taylor. I have no clue why it was released, but I hope I answered your question
It's probably a money-making scheme. They built up the demand for Love Story in the UK and released the acoustic version for people to buy while they wait for the original. When the original comes out, chances are that the people who bought the acoustic will buy the original. Normally when people have already bought the original they're less likely to buy an acoustic version.
