I feel like Photoshop imposes limits when you try to save your gif to help reduce file size, and Instagiffer doesn't do that. That's probably why PS-made gifs have that easily recognizable diffusion/pattern grain, and Instagiffer gifs are perfectly smooth.

Instagiffer with brightness +1 on the left, PS on the right (the gif has nothing on it except sharpening, saved with pattern.) It seems as though IG saves with a less invasive/aggressive form of Photoshop's diffusion.
