"TTWE" has an edgy euphoria to it. It's missing a flute though, so I see why you find it as such. And is it not catchy? You're just being ridiculous.
And "BFB" might be a BEP-esque song, but that doesn't stop it from being a sure-ready hit. Your judgement clearly can't decide that now, with how "Criminal"'s performing thus far.

Exactly. Britney has the biggest budget on her label. Look at how much money the put into her tours. Look at how expensive her videos have been in the past few years ("Blackout" aside).

Exactly. Seeing "We Found Love" do so well, which is tragic for pop music, only makes me want them to release "Up N Down" or "Big Fat Bass" even more. Clearly that sound it EVERYTHING people want right now. I'm 100% sure "Big Fat Bass" would be as big as "I Gotta Feeling."

I think it'll be a great moment for us when Britney goes all In The Zone again, and creates some alternative-dance album that the public/radio may or may not accept. But today, in the Femme Fatale era. Her most consistent and successful in singles in a long while. There's no point in changing the formula when there are even more radio-ready songs. "Criminal" is a weak follow-up to "IWG" especially because "IWG" already didn't have that great of reception in sales. Plus that weak video.
And as far as Britney "pushing" for 'Criminal'. I doubt it. It won the poll, by a landslide. I'm certain if they decided to disobey the votes and go with "Drop Dead" (which they obviously really want to release), she would've had the same response about it being one of her favorites, etc. etc. as she has said about every song on the damn album.
|
Exactly. Britney could have released "Chaotic" again and she would talk about how it's her favorite song, is really cool and how she's so excited about it.

You've already proved that you don't thoroughly read posts, jump to conclusions, and most recently, have to shittiest logic this side of the Mason Dixon.

King Rico is spreading nothing but the truth today, I see.
I updated my signature for the first time I've had one.

Britney said "Criminal" was one of her favorite before even "I Wanna Go" was released. She also said it was one of her favorites when she tweeted the small snippet for it back in late February/early March.
Don't give up on "Criminalsus". It's just starting out and fans are already jumping ship

The most delusional thing ever said in this thread is in my sig.
If you wanna check track-by-track reviews for E.N.D., I Gotta Feeling was one of the more poorly received songs on the album. ...
I think you need to go outside and get some air. At least let a window up. Get some fresh oxygen flowing through to your brain and lungs. Something in your home is tainted and is making you say stupid ****.

It just started out several weeks ago... it usually gets a boost for 1 day and then collapses back down in AI. It's really just not doing well at this point, regardless or when it started out. Even Countdown is doing better.

Not on iTunes, and the video has been out longer with more views than "Criminal"

Britney hasn't done a risky single since releasing Radar Second time, we got an outrageously-sexy video
and it already out-peaked Do Something with it's first week.
Why are stans not happy?

...but single sales only get you so far. Really, anything outside of the top 20 of iTunes isn't really selling anything that's going to really get them moving on Billboard. Countdown is SLAYING Criminal in radio... but admittedly, Criminal really only appeals to pop... This actually should be a big HAC song for Britney.

Do Somethin', IMO, is a great song, but horrible single choice. It just seemed like a b-side to me.

And "Criminal" is already almost Top 50 with less than a million views on vevo correct? Honestly the song just needs to gain momentum. The video needs to have a director's cut, or be suitable for all ages so it can get the exposure it needs on iTunes. If fans and people stick with the song, the song should rise in airplay. I'm hoping anyway... I'm not giving up on the song just yet.

I meant "Party." I honestly have NO idea what her single is right now.
BEYONCE - Party f/Kanye & Andre: 26.260 (+ 0.821)
Like your sig, sis. Unfortunately, most non-Britney fans like "Big Fat Bass" way more than Criminal.

Keep in mind it was still out two days before the video was fully public & the video isn't available for like 70% of her fanbase...

Isn't that an urban single though? I think that as time goes by and "Criminal" rises slowly, it will eventually get bigger updates.

...and you're basing this off of what?
All of my friends who aren't big on Britney love that song... all of my friends that went to the show said it was their favorite performance. Radio stations randomly picked it up while IWG was a single. Just because fans don't like it really doesn't mean ****. I'm sure if Britney released multiple singles, Beyonce style, "Big Fat Bass" would be ahead in radio play by a mile. It's perfect for radio.

Yes, but still, it's not getting much spin from pop or any other format. That's mostly all urban. If it was being pushed on pop, it'd be getting a lot bigger updates. "Party" is doing REALLY well.

I don't want to hear anything about Criminal...sometimes it takes songs a bit longer to catch on. Besides, it's already doing better than most new singles, like Beyonce's Countdown.

Not to mention Criminal doesn't get sent to rhythmic until October 25.....AND the video probably won't catch on until later next week. We also need to try and get it unblocked on VEVO.
Criminal is far from a flop right now.
However, RCA does need to get the song into a commercial -- like Jive did with IWG. That helped alot.

I don't think anyone is really saying it's flopping, but that fact that it sees a good update less than once a week and usually falls back down to low updates for several days means that stations are adding it to rotation, but aren't really play it after the first few days. . Like I said, neither of the pop stations in Nashville, Bowling Green, Louisville or Lexington are playing Criminal.
