Taylor sold 4.5 million individual tracks from the album. Most of that came when the "complete my album" feature wasn't working on iTunes. I'm pretty sure if those people (not all of them but more) would have purchased the album as a whole rather than spend more by purchasing each song individually.
Congratulations to Taylor becoming the only female in history to have two albums debut with over 1million! 1.2million is still impressive as ****, especially this day and age!
Also, extremely pleased Britney held her record!

The fact that she is able to sell these numbers in the year 2012, with record sales going the way they do now, is INCREDIBLE. As afraid as they are to admit it, I think the Britney stans know deep down what would have happened if Taylor released this at the same time as OIDIA.

The last few weeks have had about 5 million albums sold each, and both weeks without their #1 would have been at fewer than 5 mil sold.
