I think it's great Carrie doesn't remix her stuff for pop for crossover success. If the music is good enough it'll get played regardless, BHC proved that. Remixing to appease certain formats seems a little tacky.

yes
As for the remix thing, i think music is universal, made to let people hear it and enjoy it, therefore i am happy when country music crosses over, with or without a remix, because ,let's face it, it's not that the songs made available for airplay are remixed for pop audiences as a katy perry or britney song, it justs implies a slightly sound modification (in Lady A's case).

Sometimes I wonder where she gets that ultimate power from. She's just a small, vegetarian country girl

and she really is small. I didn't expect her to be so tiny in person. Immaculate voice, she didn't miss a note that night.

the main point is if you remix a country song for pop audiences, you must make it become catchy for them but still help them realize it's country. The country core can't be lost. Shania does it best, that's why she has huge success when crossover but no one considers her as pop singer

How tall is she? She looks so small next to other girls in Just Stand Up performance

For me it's more of an issue when a banjo is simply thrown in to a blatantly Pop influenced song and passed off as country. As much as I love Kelly, I didn't really like the "Mr Know It All" country mix. And as fond of Taylor as I am, the country mix of her new song exemplifies what I'm talking about. Blown Away and Good Girl? Sure, they're not the most country influenced songs to have graced country radio in recent times, but both were released to country radio untouched. It's up to country radio programmers to determine whether the songs be played on their station.

i see what you guys are telling me, and i can't say i disagree cause, well, the artist you are talking about deserves a pretty different discussion. I was just making sure you don't consider Lady A sellout or something

never While I don't think they need to do anything, period, Lady A never alters anything drastically. Imagine "Need You Now" with some heinous electro-pop beat drowning out that flawless melody, just for the sake of being more 'pop friendly' It would never happen, their music is good enough to smash without resorting to simply what's more popular.

Yes with NYN it was just that the lyrics of the song were so great that everyone could relate to them, that's imo the key to its success.
Carrie and them love each others

They do! Hilary and Carrie seem to be good friends NYN is just a great song. Well written, produced, performed...it's one of those songs that don't come around very often. It was a monster hit and rightly so. It blocked CC from multiple weeks at #1 and I'm not even mad
